T-MINUS 4 DAYS TO CSR! I'm super excited and now after reading the review above I'm even more excited. Can't wait to get there and check out what seems to the best resort there!

Have a great trip. And hope you love CSR as much as we do.

We just got in last night after a week stay at CSR and all I can say is that it was even better than I expected from start to finish. Check-in took minutes and the CM was so friendly and gave the kids all sorts of fun pins and stickers. I requested connecting standard view rooms in Casitas and was sure that we would have a view of the parking lot. But instead we received connecting rooms with a beautiful view of a courtyard. The room was spotless and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The mousecleaning left us towel animals all week along with setting up the kids stuffed animals in all different ways, the kids loved it.

The pool was great, the slide was open and we all had fun on it. Just an FYI if you have little kids, you can bring your room key to the marina and they will give you a life vest to use for the entire stay. It was great because my 3 yr. old was able to go down the water slide and we didn't have to catch her at the bottom, which made her feel so grown up. Our four kids loved the pool! I enjoyed meeting Francisco at the the pool bar and really enjoyed my lime/strawberry margarita at the pool!

We also loved the Pepper Market, I was a bit nervous because of the mixed reviews, but it was great! The food was excellent and an amazing value on the dining plan. We especially loved the Mexican section, the fajitas and quesadillas were so good!

There were conventions going on while we there, but they in no way interfered with us. They were busy during the day and left the buses fairly empty. The only time we were on a packed bus was on the way home from MK. We stayed for Wishes and as expected there was a long line for the buses, but that was the same for every resort. I also liked staying at the Casitas because you are the first stop to be picked up and we always had a seat on the way to the parks and were the first to get off the bus coming home.

What can I say, but thank you for all the advice on information that you all shared on CSR. CSR was not my original choice, we wanted to stay at POFQ but we were able to get a good deal by staying at CSR and not at POFQ so we decided to stay at CSR and we couldn't be happier. CSR will for now on be our resort choice, it was perfect in every way! I am already starting to plan our next trip to CSR!:dance3:

Thanks for posting your review!!
We are even more excited about our choice being CSR in August!

Mamacrush, We were in Casitas 3. The walk was very short to the Pepper Market, less than 5 minutes and that is walking with 4 kids ages 3-8. The pool took us a bit longer, under 10 minutes, but it is a beautiful walk. The way I judge if the distance is too far is if my kids complain. I never heard a peep from any of them walking to or from the pool or to El Centro. We are all wishing we were still there!

Thanks UShistoryteacher for such a quick response! I must confess I like the "look" of the Casitas over the Cabanas, but my husband likes the idea of the convenience Cabana 9B.

Can anyone tell me what the views are like from Cabana 9B?? Thanks!

Go to Buzz's site. He's got a ton of pix for Cabana 9B

Fax number for CSR? I'm sure I've asked a million times but my mind is going in a hundred different ways.....

We are staying at CSR for the first time in Sept. DH has always wanted to stay there but I never really wanted to. But after looking through Buzz's site...AMAZING BY THE WAY THANK YOU... and reading through this thread I'm very excited. I can't wait. Only 147 days and counting...

I put a request in our reservation for cabana's and we alos have water view rooms...I will be traveling w/ dh, dd(7), ds(5), and baby ds..do you think I should request 1st floor? any certain bldg.?

I'm getting very excited..heard wonderful things about this resort:goodvibes

Francisco was my new best friend when I was there! :cool1: he floated a shot of "muscle relaxant" (151 rum) on my Electric Lemonade after a hard day at the park! :rotfl:

Also our Mousekeeper, Christina, left my 6 year old son an INCREDIBLE Mickey Mouse basket filled to the brim with goodies! Food, coloring books, and a light up wizard Mickey. Plus a personally autographed photo of the Mouse himself!! She really went out of her way and was a SWEETHEART!! My little man was THRILLED!!!

CSR was a BEAUTIFUL resort, but I found it not very single parent friendly like some of the other places I've stayed. I guess because it's so big and so spread out it was just hard for me to navigate with 2 children. (and only ever saw that golf cart once!). My boys adored the pool, but it was quite a trek from our room. Not bashing it....it was a BEAUTIFUL place and the staff were ALL VERY friendly and helpful! Just think next time we will stay somewhere else.

Either is fine.

HELLO ALL… JUST BACK FROM CSR!!!

We had the most wonderful week at CSR!!!! It was absolutely perfect!!!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very nice CM and given a room in Cabana 8B… just what I asked for! It was a water view, even though I did not request one! It was on the second floor just steps from the quiet pool and laundry building. I was a bit concerned when I realized it was a corner room, close to the elevator so I worried it would be noisy and I am a very light sleeper! But I am very happy to report that the rooms are very sound proof and I did not have a problem sleeping at all! I was very, very happy with the room condition and the location of the room! No mold or dirt in sight! Also, the beds were extremely cozy and comfortable!

Our mousekeeper, Maryann was excellent! She left us two towel animals and arranged our "Disney loot" in different ways in the front window each day! It was fun to come back each evening to a "surprise"! Also, she was extremely efficient in keeping our room clean and comfortable! She gets an A+ in my book!

Our room was very easily assessable to BUS STOP #4 and I must admit the bus system at CSR was top notch! At the parks the CSR bus stops were very close to being the first ones closest to the park entrances, which was a definite switch from out last trip to POP as the POP bus stops at the parks were the furthest away from the park entrances!

The whole CSR resort was beautiful. We really enjoyed walking around and just enjoying the atmosphere. The Dig Site was just a short walk from our room AND THE SLIDE WAS OPEN!!! What a nice surprise! The hot tub was wonderful in the evening! I REALLY ENJOYED IT!!!!

We ate at the Pepper Market three times throughout out the week and the food was very good. I must admit though that it was a bit difficult to get our meals coordinated as there are different stations and since my son and my taste in food is COMPLETELY different… he was able to get his food much faster, sit down and completely finish his meal before I even got my "made in front of me food" and sat down to eat. The only time we actually ate together was when we got the food "to go" and he had no choice but to wait until we both got our food and I paid for everything and then we went outside to eat it together! We had breakfast buffet at the Maya Grill on our last full day (Friday) and it was very good. Lots of food to pick from!

To sum it up…...WE LOVED CSR AND WILL DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN!

Thanks to Buzz and everyone else who helped us plan for our first trip to CSR!!!

Okay, I just remembered something that surprised me! Don't get me wrong, I am not a complete anti-smoking freak, but really don't like cigarette smoke! I happened to notice the first time we went to the Cabanas quiet pool someone smoking at a table and thought it was odd! Then, the next time I visited the quiet pool, my son and I decided to sit at a table and read/relax for a while before swimming and noticed (and smelled) an ashtray/bucket stand right next to the table. I then look around and there were more all around the pool. I just thought it was odd that they allowed smoking at such a public place! I did not notice any smoking at the Dig Site and that pool area. I am wondering if it is allowed at all the quiet pools at CSR??? We did not visit the Castias or Ranchos quiet pools so I do not know... but this is just an FYI to all those "allergic to smoke quests"!!!!!

Im wondering if CSR will check us in with southwest airline and print our boarding passes? POFQ did it for us in 2006 so I just assumed CSR would do the same. Where would be the best place to ask them to do this?

Thanks Boundin

Yes they will. You can also go to the business center and they will let you use the PC for free to print them yourself. It's better if you are trying to get into section A. Perks of a convention resort.

First, welcome back. I am so glad you enjoyed the CSR. We can't wait to be there in September. We stayed in Casitas last September. I remember there being no smoking at the chairs around the pool, but that there was an ashtray by the pools on the outskirts of the pool under the trees. I noticed this in particular because I had quit just a few weeks before our trip and in cfase I broke down and started again I wnated to know where the ashtray was.

Well by the time I wake up in the morning we will be at 18 days until our wonderful trip to WDW and our stay at CSR. I wanted to thank everyone that has given us information about CSR, especially Buzz. We were originally going to stay at CBR, but with the pool being closed decided to stay at CSR. I'm really happy we did.

I also wanted to say I know I have not been on the boards very much lately. That's because I had time off from Jan. to March recovering from foot surgery (long story). Good news is I'm almost back to 100% and will be in great shape for our trip.

Anyway, I went back to work at the start of April and with work (retail :sad1: ), school (yes I'm also a full-time student), and planning for the trip I've been a little busy. Work is work and school is at a little over 2 weeks until we are done. Then off to WDW and CSR, so things are a little crazy and will be for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, it will make time go fast until we leave. If all goes well I may even be coming home to a new job!

So thanks again to everyone that has helped us plan a great vacation and anniversary trip. From faxing room requests to GardenGrocer to room suggestions to everything else you've all been great. We can't wait to go!
