Zynga's CityVille

Having recently finished getting mastery signs for all the recipes for my FarmVille spa, this is coming at a great time for me. While I could pursue higher level masteries for recipes, or go back to doing some regular co-ops, or for that matter pursuing mastery signs for more crops, I think it might be a good time to start with a new game, from the beginning, and this one looks like it won't be as dark as Mafia Wars, as farsical as FrontierVille, or as simplistic as Treasure Island.

The only thing I'm not terribly happy about, with CityVille, is that rumors indicate that is heavily energy-based (like Mafia Wars, FrontierVille, and Treasure Island). However, I think it remains to be seen whether that's the case: After all, FarmVille is conceptually energy-based, as well, at the start, while you're so thoroughly dependent on coin.

"Commerce and Franchises" sound like FV crafting cottages and co-ops, on steroids. That's great, because imho those crafting cottage co-ops, specifically, were the best part of FV.

Please post back to this thread if you're invited into the beta, if you're allowed to, and let us know how the game looks. Thanks!

CityVille is up and running!

I does seem a lot like FrontierVille, but perhaps better-enough that I'm going to play it. :cheer2:

I haven't decided yet. I'm nearly finished with the crop masteries in FV...just trees and a few job ribbons to go. I never started Treasure Isle or Frontierville. I don't like to spend too much time on my games - usually 1/2 hour in the morning while I'm having my coffee, and more time at night if I'm sitting watching tv anyways. I've played Mafia Wars for longer and I spend even less time on that now so I'm ready to drop it.
Have you tried Cityville yet?

I got sick of FV, and play Cafe World a TON...so I may try it and see how it is

I just started playing Cityville today. FV is getting a little repetitive now that I'm done chasing ribbons & masteries. Frontierville is still fun for the quests, but I really needed something new. So far Cityville seems to be fun, but the energy thing gets on my nerves.

I'm going to give this one a shot. I got tired of Farmville. I don't like FrontierVile, but I love TreasureIsle.

I need neighbors. :yay:

Me too!!

I have started playing Cityville but not enough of my FV FTV friends have jumped on board so I dont have enough people to hire.... Not a huge fan of games where you're so heavily dependent on having x amount of friends to move forward.

I saw this thread, and decided to check this game out. BIG mistake - I'm already addicted. I love designing the layout of the city and starting all the businesses.

Anyway, I would love more neighbors, since I doubt any of my current Facebook friends will start playing this. So if you're interested, PM me and I'll send you my Facebook info.

I have nobody to hire yet. Except Samantha. So she is currently holding all of the positions in my City Hall and post office. But I agree - I too hate games that rely on having a lot of neighbors. That's why I've basically given up on Frontierville. It's hard to complete missions when most of the stuff has to be sent by neighbors.

I've just started playing, too, and need neighbors. If you'd like to PM me your fb info, I'll be happy to add y'all :)

I've been playing this for a few days and it's hard to deal with goods inventory, neighbors for different positions and of course...energy. I guess it's supposed to be challenging and in those respects...it is.

I am playing too! I dislike that it is an energy-based game, but over -all, I like it so far. Definitely need neighbors since most of my gaming friends are not playing this one.

I'm really liking this game! It's definitely more challenging than Farmville - which is a good thing - but it's one that won't be too timeconsuming (so far anyways) and I could play it a couple of times a day and keep up with it. Would love some new neighbours...not too many of my FV friends are playing. I'll send out some PMs - let me know if you are interested!

hi
i just started playing and also need neighbors please

So I've been playing for a while now and I really like it but the whole energy and supply bit makes me nuts. I plant the crops to supply the businesses but then it takes all my energy to harvest them and then I can't do any more.

I think that's why I stopped with Frontierville. I guess I'm not a fan of energy based games. Either that or give more at a time.

Sticking with it, I do like it. need more neighbors though. PM me if you want some too.

I just started on Cityville and love it!:goodvibes

I also play Cafe World, have for over a week. :goodvibes:goodvibes

If anyone wants to be neighbors, just PM me.:dance3:

I can always use more neighbors, so send a PM if you want my FB info.

The energy and good thing doesn't bother me much. I run trains, and now run ships, so the energy that had been going into crops is lessened. I need more of the permits to expand though - it's getting cramped, and I think a couple of my buildings are now hidden behind other ones.
