Zumba DVD for home?

I would love to try this! But I'm afraid that it would aggravate my back. I have 3 bulging disks pressing on nerves. Do you think it would be too much?

I have a herniated disc and haven't had any problems so far. I have been sore but it's muscle soreness.....not anything like when my disc is bothering me. Would probably be a good idea to check with your doctor first though.

You can google 20 minute express & youtube and watch the whole thing there and maybe get an idea of what to expect.

You might want to try your local library. I was able to get a DVD there to try and see if i liked it first. I may just go in a check it out a few times first.

I'm thinking about springing for this for myself and DD14. I'm just starting dance classes this year, and she's been doing it for 8 years, so I think it would be good for both of us. Plus from the commercials it looks like it will be good for the area I have the most issue with; from my bellybutton to my knees! ;)

Will this work to shrink the "Bingo-Wings" that I have and hate like crazy???

I've been doing the 20 minute express at home for almost 2 weeks now and love it!!!!!!!

It really is an all over work out. Can already see definition in my upper arms that I wouldn't have really expected to get from this.

I don't find them boring at all and the 20 minute express goes by so fast, it's so much fun!!!!!!

Moving on to the Cardio party in the next week or so and will alternate it daily with the 20 minute express.

Where did you get your DVD?

If you have netflix and can stream to your TV they have something called Crunch: Cardiosalsa. It's not true Zumba but some of the reviews says its similar. I may try this first.

Is there a way to get just the 20-minute express DVD? All I can find it in is the whole set, and I can't afford the $60 for the whole thing... :guilty:

Did it just take you once or twice to figure out the instructional routine? I need to look at it again but hope to try the 20 minute express the day after.

I went through the basic instructional steps twice. But I've danced for a long time and though not that kind of dance.....the footwork to the salsa and a couple of others is very similar to some of the footwork in know. Adding the hips and all is what was the most difficult for me......I obviously don't have an Latin rhythm and felt like I was going in the wrong direction (hip wise) all the time. lol

I found the whole 20 minute express workout posted on youtube as well. I think I went to youtube and typed in Zumba 20 minute express. There were lots of different clips look for the one that is 21:58 minutes posted by codyjo.

So I put the cardiosalsa into my instant stream through Netflix. I think I'm gonna give it a try this morning. They have a quite a few different dance workouts.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did this and it was so much fun!

There are some Youtube videos out there that are great....I think it is a class in North Carolina if I remember correctly. They do routines to some great songs.....like some Michael Jackson, Shakira and others........They really look like fun!!

I love Zumba! I do it twice a week at my local gym - I am lucky that they have it. I am going to have to check out the Crunch: Cardiosalsa on netflix! Thanks for the suggestion!

I am pretty new to Zumba (2 whole weeks! lol) but I have lost 5 pounds so far. Have a ways to go though.

I go to Zumba 3-4 times a week, and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! I have always been the type of person that thinks exercise is a four letter word, but this is so much fun I don't feel like I'm working out. You have to like to dance though!!

Slightly off topic, but I'm going to a Zumba Glow Party tonight at a local community center. I don't know if where I live is unique or what, but there are tons of Zumba events out there to attend! The one I'm going to tonight is $5. There is also one on Sunday which is being taught by a Zumba master from NYC...

I go to one gym twice a week, and then I try to add in another class at a community center. Zumba is REALLY HOT here!!:thumbsup2

I've been doing the 20 minute express for about 2 weeks.....I think I've missed 2 days. Haven't weighed so I'm not sure what my progress weight wise is but I am definately starting to see a difference. It's an all over workout, starting to see definition in my arms, my waist is slimming. I still have a LLLOOOOONNNNGGGG way to go but the results so far are encouraging.

Looking forward to moving on to the cardio party and alternating schedule.......the booklet says it will help you drop a size in 10 days.....we shall see.

I'm always very skeptical of the claims the infomercials give but so far Zumba has exceeded my expectations.
