I think that's all the days that I am behind on. Anyways, thanks for the compliments and the encouragement goldcupmom and lesli 54. It really helps :grouphug: when I haven't been able to post for a while. I'm sorry I haven't had more time to get involved in ya'lls journals. Sometimes I can barely find the time to post to mine.

Sounds like you have been bit by the pastry/cakes monster lately. That's one of my downfalls, especially if it is really good. :rolleyes1

Anyways, it sounds like you have done fairly well while you were absent. I think you and I should stick together and see if we can break into the 100's SOON! What you said in your journal about seeing such a low number is the same thing that I am feeling. It seems so surreal, BUT, I know now that I can succeed and so can you!

Have a wonderful day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hey I haven't posted for Tuesday or today yet but I don't feel like it so I'm gonna wait until I do.

This weekend is the real deal. It is the end of the Marathoning for Mortal Walk/Run Half Marathon training program. I am supposed to do 13.1 miles this Sunday and I am scared to death :scared1: . I am not actually going to be in a race but I will be doing the distance and someone else is going to time me and have water for me and all. The whole long distance thing hasn't scared me up until now. I did 6 then 8 then 10 miles without even giving it a thought, but 13.1 seems like so much more. I keep having these doubts. It's like there are little voices saying things like "You don't actually think you can do this do you?" or "Z, what the heck were you thinking when you got yourself into this?". I'm just feeling very unsure about the whole situation. This morning when I weighed I was feeling pretty good b/c I am down to 202, however the rest of the day I have let myself sit and stew about this weekend (i.e. what if i can't finish, what if i am too slow, what if i give up :scared1: ). Well I'm pretty much freakin out :scared: right now so if anyone has anything to say that might be of some help please tell me. I feel like I am losing my mind!

The anticipation of doing a certain milage is generally worse than actually doing it. If you don't make the distance or the time, you can always try again. You are not a failure if you don't finish. You had the courage to start. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am already second guessing why I signed up for the Jan half. I figured it would be incentive to walk, which would in turn take some of the pounds off. I fille i can do the distance but currently will come nowhere near the required time. I will just keep trying to get faster.

Position your water support at given spots and think to yourself, I only have to go x miles or whatever, when you get to that point, move onto the second water stop and do the same. Break the distance up into smaller distances and focus on the breaks for water not the entire 13.1 miles.

Hope you have some cooler temps to do the milage.

When you finish, you will hopefully say to yourself "What was the big deal"

Good luck on you 1/2 and try not to get too stressed.

Of course, I have something to say............"You're gonna do GREAT!" :cheer2:  :cheer2: Just think, you have done smaller marathons before and so you have an idea of what to expect and how to pace yourself. Not to mention that you probably had more weight on (unless that was pre-weight gain). I would think that it would be easier to do the marathon this weekend with less of you to carry around.

Not to mention, that it is wonderful exercise and just think, maybe this weekend we can hit ONEDERLAND together! Wouldn't that put the icing on the cake (just don't eat it ;) )of your marathon accomplishment?

I think you should go for it. What do you have to lose? Nothing but a few lbs. If you find that you cannot make the entire distance, then you know that you can stop with the full knowledge that you tried. You won't be a quitter if you give it your best, but you will be a quitter if you don't try.

Just put on the headphones and go.

Today, in the paper, I saw that our town is doing a 1 and 2 mile walk in September and I am considering doing that. We will see.

Have a great evening and don't worry. Remember you said that when you got to 204 you knew you could do anything. So go tackle that challenge this weekend. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Exercising Goals
1. Stayed on W/R Program
It was a xtrain for 30 min day. Today I vacuumed and swept every inch of a very large house ("How large could it be?" you say). It took me 3 HOURS of nonstop vacuuming and sweeping. It was kinda fun though. I had the house all to myself and had my little boombox blaring. I got to kind of dance around while I was vacuuming since I knew noone was looking  (I hope there were no hidden cameras :teeth: ). Anyway, I counted 30 min of that as my xtraining.
2. Stayed up and active most of the day cleaning and vacuuming and sweeping.

Bible Study Goals
1. Did no bible study. :guilty: :guilty:

veggieburger patty
whole tomato
watermelon 1c.

Exercising Goals
1. It was a rest day. I rested.
2. Did not stay up and active all day. I was pretty lazy :guilty: .

Bible Study Goals
1. Did Sunday School Bible Studies from Monday, and Tuesday of this week. Today being Tuesday, of course. :teeth:

Thanks for the encouragement ladies! I think I was just in a funk yesterday. I really was freakin out. But today I am better. I am not as stressed. Whatever happens, happens. I prepared myself just how the program said. I can only do MY best. :cheer2:

Nycpa, thanks for the tip about breaking it up into smaller parts. I think I will break it up into 3 mile increments (you know 3,6,9,12,finish). Your comment made me remember a part in the Marathoning for Mortals book (i think that was the one) where someone was racing alongside another. One turned to the other and said, "So and So, how do you eat an elephant?". So and so said "I don't know, how?". The other said "One bite at a time." :teeth:

Lesli, thanks for reminding me that I said I felt like I could do anything when I got to 204. I had forgotten. It is so easy to forget our accomplishments and small victories and replace them with doubts. :flower:

Zela - great job on the food choices. Don't beat yourself up over the nutter butter patty cookies. Think of them as additional protein. Also depriving yourself of onething can lead to binging on something else because you feel deprived.

I'm glad to see your positive attitude is back. We all have those day when we wonder if we have set the right course. You have trained hard for Saturday. You have the skills need to do it. Have fun and do your best.

Thanks for the kind words in my journal. Yes I know what a colonoscopy is. That is the next step. The prelim appt will be set up for 2 weeks when I am back in town for the week. When the doctor suggested it back in Nov I ignored her. She suggested it then because I am over 50. It seems your body falls apart when you hit 50. I have had different drs tell me when they recommend some new test or procedure why I never needed it before. Their response is usually "you have never been 50 before."

Zela,
Wow! What an amazing job on your weight loss! Wonderful! I know you will reach your goal soon! :)
Keep up the hard work! :)
