Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 week Disneymoon (PTR link 11/14)

I love the photopass pictures, especially the ones where you're holding Simba--you guys look great cradling a baby:thumbsup2!

Awww, thanks! :cloud9:

LOVE the photopass pictures! The balloon one is really cute!:yay:

Great pics! Love the balloon one!

Thanks! I love the balloon one a lot.

Congratulations to you both!!

Seems like if I miss a few updates on a TR, there's bound to be a baby on the way! :goodvibes

 Thanks!

Day 3 part 1 - Typhoon Lagoon
August 13th, 2011

If you are following the trip report in order using the chapter links at the beginning, skip the next paragraph.

For those of you who have been with me since the beginning, I'm finally writing part 1 of our third day in Disney. Yay, Photopass!!

Today was our first day with no alarm. So how late did we sleep in? Well... 8am. I guess our bodies were still too used to the work and Disney getting up early schedules.

Despite waking up early we took it real slow getting ready. I was slower than Ron, so he went and got breakfast for both of us to eat in the room. So nice! He got me some Mickey Waffles and got himself a Key West Omelet. For some reason I only took picture of mine?

We ended up leaving the resort around 11am and took a bus to Typhoon Lagoon. Again no wait for the bus, yay!

We spotted the first photopass person even before entering the park.

We got a locker and put our things in. I saw Lilo was out with only 1 person in line so I insisted we stop by to see her.

Photo0143FourBySix.jpg

My favorite part of TL is the surf pool, so that's where we headed first. We got a couple of photopass pictures with the wave in the background.

Then jumped in the water and had some fun in the giant waves.

We didn't stay too long. We knew most slides would have long waits at this time so we went in the lazy river. This is the life!

Another photopass picture (see why I waited to post this?)

Photo0156FourBySix.jpg

As we exited we saw that the Storm Slides had a short wait so we did one of them. Fun, but very tame. Right next to it is Humunga Kawabunga, or as I prefer to call it, The Wedgie Slide! It goes really fast and is in the dark. Fun, but better check your swimsuit before stepping out... LOL

We went back to the surf pool, but all they had were tiny bobbing waves, and then no waves at all. Boring! I wanted to go on one of the tube slides so we chose Keehaul Fall. It was fun, but not really worth the 20 minutes wait.

The other two slides had an even longer wait, so we skipped them and decided to have lunch. We weren't very hungry so all we had was some fries. There was nowhere to sit, so we found a little crate in the shade and ate quickly.

As we brought our things back to the locker I saw Stitch. I love him, so this was a no-brainer.

We checked out the underwater view at the Shark Reef.

197.jpg

We went back to the lazy river. It was PACKED! Like rush hour, with bumper to bumper tubes. NOT relaxing. So we got another photopass picture and exited without making the full round.

Photo0171FourBySix.jpg

Now, when even the lazy river is jammed, you know the water park is full of people so we thought it was time to leave. We walked in front of Crush N Gusher without riding it, knowing we'd be back later in the week.

199.jpg

As we were exiting the park we saw some dark storm clouds rolling in. Guess we left at the right time!

We have a short wait for the bus and are soon back at POP. By this time the storm has gotten so close that they have even closed the pools at the resort. That did not happen often during our trip! There's even a warning on TV about how strong the storm is. But since you've already read my evening update you know that it didn't actually affect us much. Phew!

Before heading to our room for our afternoon rest we took a couple of pictures to show how close to the food court our room was. This was taken standing at the end of the hallway to our room. Looking this way you can see the 60s stairs, Petals pool Bar, and the Lobby/food court building.

201.jpg

We were in building 3.

203.jpg

And now looking the other way, our room is about halfway down, before the intersection.

So that's it for our afternoon. We had a nice evening ahead of us!

Up Next, Shopping Time

Awww man, sorry you were so unlucky! Maybe it was because when I went it was still summer and super packed? Usually there is at least one in the wave pool that's pretty easy to spot, and one in the lazy river that can be harder to find as he moves around. The one at the entrance we only saw once and it was around lunch time. The one with the characters is fairly obvious. We saw three at the bottom of Crush N Gusher, one for each slide. And finally we saw one at the bottom of Gangplank Falls, but only once.

hmm.. I wonder if it was the time of year?? had to be! Oh well, I am excited to see what they would have looked like through yours lol!

You can be jealous of all the photopass people I saw, while I'm jealous that you got to go with lower crowds and to the MNSSHP. ;)

BTW, not ALL my picture were taken with photopass. We had an underwater camera with us the whole day.

Awwww, one of my students just sent me an email saying they miss me and hope I come back soon. It's making being away from them even harder than it was. I love my students!! :grouphug:

I'm gonna try to put up an update today, but unfortunately the queasiness has pretty much taken over my body most of the time... At least it's not full on nausea, and it does make the pregnancy more real...

Great Typhoon Lagoon pictures!! :cool1: Looks like a great time!:thumbsup2

We did have a good time, but to be honest it wasn't the great time I was expecting. We knew going there at that hour that slides would have long wait, but I thought we'd just enjoy the lazy river and wave pool. Well between the lazy river being over flowing with people, and the wave pool not giving us many big waves to play in, I was a bit disappointed. It's okay though, we had more water park fun coming our way...

I need your opinion. I'm trying to work on our photobook and I can't decide between two covers. I would really appreciate if a lot of you voted/commented.

Option 1

Photobookcover1.jpg

Option 2

Photobookcover2.jpg

So, what do you think???

I usually would prefer anything with the castle, Walt, and/or Mickey on it BUT I vote for the second one. I like that we can see your faces and I think "Let the Memories Begin" is a good opening to a picture book.

Awww, all of your PP pics are great! I love the one of you holding the balloons and jumping. :thumbsup2 I am so jealous of how many pictures you were able to get at TL! I wish I had an underwater camera like yours. I really like option one for the photobook! :goodvibes

I like the first option best. It's a good teaser for what's to come in the photobook!

Oooh! Tough choice!!!

I REALLY like them both!

Can you do the 2nd one as the front cover and then the 1st one as a closing picture at the end of the book?

I like the idea of the 2nd photo better, although it seems a little more cluttered with the people milling around in the background. I like that you can see more of your faces in it and it has the "Let the memories begin" banner in it. Argh....I'm no good at decisions! Ha!

How long do you have to be out of work for? Your job made you leave work because you are pregnant? I missed something along the way...

Exactly why I have this dilemma!

You really should get an underwater camera then. Or ask for one for Christmas! It's a great investment, especially for the price.

I really like number one. Great start and teaser to find out what's to come!

I feel like with option one you are kinda looking through a window into the book.

I love your idea of using option 2 as the cover and option 1 as the end of the book. I had just thought of another possibility and was coming here to post it. I could use option 1 as the cover, but option 2 as the very first picture of the book with a cool saying about "letting the memories begin". Hum, more food for thought...

I too find that all the people around us in option 2 is kinda distracting and part of the reason I don't like it as much as I should.

How long do you have to be out of work for? Your job made you leave work because you are pregnant? I missed something along the way...

I'm a teacher and am in daily contact with several hundred students. There is a big risk that one of those students at school could have a contagious disease harmful (and possibly deadly) to the fetus. So the second I learn I'm pregnant I have to stay home and take a blood test to see if I'm immune to those diseases. I'm currently at home waiting for the results, which could take anywhere between 2 weeks and a month. If I'm immune I go back to work, if not I stay on preventive leave until a month before my due date, when my maternity leave kicks in.

If later I get a second child and already know I'm immune, then no need to go through it again. If I was not immune the first time I still need to do the test though as I could have become immune in the meantime (it has happened to a friend).

My vote goes to number 1.

Number 1 is a great teaser and number 2 has to many random people in the back ground to make the cover (as other posters posted).

I was way behind and there are just too many things to comment on. Let's just say I loved each update 'cause that's easier. ;) Seriously, ya'll look like you are having a great time and the photopass pictures are great.

I think I like the second picture as the photobook cover.

I'm voting for the second picture as the cover, and the 1st as the very last page. I think. They're both great options. Maybe you should just do 2 books. :lmao:

They're both great, but I like the first picture a bit better :)

Ok, so far I have 5 votes for option 1, and 4 votes for option 2. Not the landslide I was hoping! :rotfl: But that just goes to show that both are reall good pictures and it's normal that I'm having such a tough time deciding.

I'm really leaning towards the first one because of all the random people around us that several of you have pointed out. I knew *something* was buggin me about that picture, and I think this is it. But if I do choose option 1, then for sure option 2 will be on the first page, and if I go with option 2 then the other picture will be on the very last page.

Thanks!
