zero entry pool at AKL

I feel so stupid asking this question but what exactly is a zero entry pool? I know the AKL has one but what is the difference from a "normal" pool (if there is one at Disney).

I believe it is a ramp descending from the deck to the pool floor, rather than the traditional steps. More on the order of a beach becoming part of the ocean, rather than falling off a cliff into the ocean!

Hi. We just got back from the Poly that also has a zero entry pool. They are wonderful! Especially if your kids aren't strong swimmers or very young. I could sit in the shallow water, or even lie down with my girls playing happily around me. It looks like Taja describes, more like the beach into the ocean as the pool decking into the water. very very cool. Enjoy your stay!
