Now some of those I've done.
Some thoughts.
I would definitely pick 50s over Sci Fi.
Skipper Canteen would be high on my list.
T-REX would be very, very low. Okay. It wouldn't make the list.
Beaches... must go back.
Via Napoli... was very underwhelmed with the za, so nah.
Have heard really good things about Raglan Road.
Whispering Canyon. I don't know. I don't think I'd enjoy it as much, solo.
We can do that one together.

I do love both 50's and Sci Fi, I can't pick one of the other!

I would have been terrible in Sophie's Choice...if you know, it involved 50's and Sci-Fi...as my children...

I still can't make my mind up about Skippers Canteen. I'm not that adventurous...well with food anyway

Alas, I have been too "frugal" (i.e. cheap) and have not partaken of any of these fine dining establishments.

No need to hang yah head in shame! If it wasn't for the free DDP and our Disney Gift Cards we got free I would be far to cheap to try most of them! It would be chicken nuggets and hot dogs all the way! Come to think of it that sounds pretty good!

But I'm going to be a little bit braver and I'm going to try Sci-Fi Diner and Liberty Tree Tavern. And if those go well, I may also try The Plaza. I enjoyed Be Our Guest for Lunch and I'm going to return again next trip.

I love Sci-Fi! Oooo! I hope you are doing lunch at LTT so you can partake of the Oooeey Gooeey Tooofee Cake! Loooks sooo gooood! (Was that too many vowels? )

But I have been known to enjoy Mickey Waffles on occasion...

Everybody loves a cheesy show!!!! Literally every live-action Disney Channel / Nickelodeon show has adopted the style of Full House.

Jamie watches a bunch of stuff like Game of Thrones, The Flash, Agents of Shield etc etc, and just once I want to watch something FUN and light-hearted rather than dark and mysterious!!! I love it.

Whispering Canyon doesn't seem to get a lot of attention, other than for the antics, but the food is really good in my opinion, it's one of our favourites

You see this is all your fault, I now have 2, count them 2, ADRs for WCC. It wasn't even on my radar and now I have 2!

GIRL I meant to tell you in the PM I just sent you but I forgot, maybe you know this by now I don't know? But Disney have been slowly releasing the park hours on the official site, up to the 13th so far, and Wishes/MSEP IS on some of the nights the initial document said it wouldn't be

5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th and 12th all have Wishes listed (the 8th, 11th and 13th are supposedly going to be MNSSHP nights), and MSEP is listed for the 9th, 10th and 12th so far WOOOO.

I know! Woot woot!

But I am still so confused by the hours for Wishes and MSEP, they have Wishes at 8pm and then MSEP at 10pm I always thought Wishes was after MSEP?? But at least they have at added them so nights at least

Oh boy, I never even thought about that! You're right, that would take a LOT of appeal out of TPV. Good thing they seem to be adding it

If those original hours had been right I think I would have down graded our rooms and saved the money! But they weren't so we stilll have TPV!

I have a feeling (or I'm hoping) park hours will start to be adjusted after the announce the Halloween party and stuff..., kinda frustrating!

They have announced the parties (but not the prices or when tickets will go on sale ) but the hours are still pretty messed up
It is really frustrating!

I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth!! Well...not completely! Things just got all kinds of crazy lately and I haven't had any time catch up on my DIS time!

But I swear I've not been ignoring you and I still love you, and you,

Right! Enough with the mushy stuff! I'm think (okay judging by your comments I know) you have all been wondering how my ADR day went. Or to be more accurate my ADR days.


Yeah...

That was...an interesting rollercoaster!

As I have mentioned before I am something of an over-planner. I have already planned, then replanned, and then replanned this trip about a bazillion times! There is now a STACK of paper with various scribbling crazy all over it that is my Disney plans! @SnowWhiteOz I really do need you to teach my your spreadsheeting ways!



Finally the night before my 180 day mark arrived and I was getting ready start the assault for my ADRs, there was also a couple of extra things my DM really wanted to do and I thought why not use those fancy dancy concierge dudes, we are paying for it after all!

I got my snazzy glitter pen plan and make sure I had the right days for these extras, it was then I saw it, my glaringly obvious mistake. You see these extras only happen on certain days and wouldn’t you just know it I had them planned for a grand total of none of those days

Time for plan bazillion and one! It took a hot minute to sort that out (by minute I mean an hour and a half) before I sent the lovely Don at AKL Concierge an email with my requests. Great. Done. He probably ring me sometime the next day...or in five minutes! Holy Concierge Batman that was fast! “Got that all squared away for you” he said in his cheerful American twang! Already?! Whoa! That was easy! Clearly this whole ADR thing is going to be a breeze, I thought to my self!

Oh to be back at 181 days and be full of that same naive confidence! But as they say God (or in this case Disney) laughs at those who make plans!


ADR Day One:



As I am one of those British folks we don't have to be awake at 6am like you Yanks do! (We do however have to be up at 5am for Fastpass Plus though…) So I had to wait until 11am GMT until it was finally ADR time. I bet you can picture me now: rosy cheeks, big grin on my face, not a sign of worry or fear, fancy glitter penned plan at my side, logged in, credit card already on file (what am I a noob???) fingers inching to starting clicking and booking!



10:57, 10:58, 10:59..11:00! IT'S GO TIME PEOPLE!

THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!

Okay so I open up the F! Dining package first as I thought this will be the harder of the ADRs I'm looking for today to get. I looked down at my shiny plan and see I wanted an ADR around 6pm. That will work, F! Should be at 8pm, plenty of time to eat and----what wait?? Latest ADR is 3:55pm??

Noooooo! That isn't what I want! Quickly looked on other days, nope they are all earlier!

Well {insert rude word here}! Of course I did what any good DISer would do, I booked it anyway! I would just have to figure something else out.


Time for plan bazillion and two!



Okay. It's fine! I just needed to move Yak and Yeti lunch to a different day and Sanaa somewhere else and we are back in the game!



Luckily everything else for AKL slotted nicely into place, and that's one hotel down! Okay MDE lets get BC booked! As a non noob I know I can book 10 days in advance which would cover AKL, BC and our GF stay.



So here we g….huh.

Ugh...that is the absolute worst...when you sit down to commit...and BOOK and are all ready...and you...can't...sigh. Or can't get what you want...ugh. But...in my limited experience I can say...that with ADR's...once you have a time it's sometimes possible to go back and get another time later...as long as you've got something!! But it is funny how one little change in your plans can have such a domino effect and make you have to rejuggle so many other things!!

But it's not.


DM found another lump last week. We don't know if it's serious, I'm keeping everything crossed it turns out benign, but she is undergoing tests and as she now has a history they can't rule anything out.


We don't know how long it will be until she gets her results, they were really good at the clinic last time so we are hopeful we will have some news soon.


I'm really sorry I haven't managed to get caught up on all your TRs and PTRs but it's been pretty stressful lately and I haven't had the time and if I'm honest I haven't really wanted to think about anything, even DIS related.

But I didn't want my little gang of DIS pals thinking I had abandoned them...again.


Hopefully I will be back soon and I really, really hope I will have good news.
