DVC Destiny "First Wave" Incentives

For anyone going on the Destiny in a few weeks:

CFW, VDH, and RIV:

150 points save up to $5,700
200 points save up to $8,000
250 points save up to $10,500

Poly rates are not listed.
Those are some really good prices for RIV and VDH.
$38/pt off 150
$40/pt off 200
$42/pt off 250

I think CFW and RIV still have a base of $235 so 197/195/193 per point depending on level
VDH is $245/pt, so it's 207/205/203 per point.

Add $500 for D23 Gold and possibly some other discounts. (That's $2 to a little over $3/pt depending on purchase).

If you sell back first year of points, isn't that another $20/pt?
Direct for $171 (250 points with D23 Gold and selling back first year of points).

Those looking to buy who will be on the cruise, this is a pretty good offer.

That is solid.
At that price I would have bought on my last cruise.

For comparison dollars off per point on on the resorts where I saved price sheets during Welcome Home Weeks (plus additional $500 with D23) during summer 2025:
150: VDH: $35 Polynesian: $15 RIV: $29
200: VDH: $39 Polynesian: $16 RIV: $31
250: VDH: $41 Polynesian: $17 RIV: $33

This is reasonable direct Riviera pricing if you are cruising and want to buy there. I don't have the price sheet for the cabins, but they were super cheap this summer. This is just a touch better than summer pricing on VDH but very comparable.

Here are the PDFs....the "save up to" wording applies, as the discounts vary between properties. The
$38/pt off 150, $40/pt off 200, and $42/pt off 250 are the max discounts and apply to CFW.

At the 150 point level, the cruise discounts are $7 above current incentives (CFW $38, RIV $27, POLY $16, VDH $35). A $1,000 Castaway discount can also be applied, as well as the $500 D23 discount.

These are as good as I've seen for direct pricing in quite a while...if you happen to be somebody who cruises (I've never cruised and am not sure I'm going to start). About $1000 less than Welcome Home Weeks at Polynesian, VDH, and Riviera, plus the additional $500 for D23.
Yeah it’s hard to know that you want to buy and then happen to be in a first wave sailing. I think it being first wave is the reason behind the good incentive. Happy for those who happen to be on the cruise and looking to buy.

Yeah the PDF specifically says "Member with Member Charter Developer Credit, Special Offer, and Castaway Club Offer."

That would never be me, but it's great for those that can take advantage of it!

I keep looking at VDH, as VGC is pretty hard to book at the seven month mark. And I keep thinking: but I'll never use 150 points at VDH every year and it'd be foolish to use most of those VDH points as SAPs with the dues so high.

This is how I felt about it and came to the conclusion I'm okay with getting under 7 months scraps. I realistically don't see myself booking DL resorts during the 11 month window. If I stay at DL its going to be for 1-2 nights at a time as a staycation and I'm probably not going to book it until a few months out if that so I might as well get a home resort priority I'll actually use which is basically more WDW points as long as they're direct.

For you, I'm not sure how important it is to secure that room on property at DLR but if it is very important I think it can still make sense as SAP. They'll be extremely expensive SAP+ but still SAP+.

I'm west coast as well. And like you, Disneyland is a one to two night experience, usually a few times a year. I'm good booking VGC whenever I can find it. I prefer it over VDH. But if I had VDH, I'd probably book three to four nights a year at the 11 month mark. Specifically, two days around July 17. (I was lucky enough to find space in VGC last year, but not the year before). And one to two nights the first weekend in December for Candlelight. Outside of that, I'm pretty flexible on dates. So I realistically need between 50 and 75 points for a studio on those days. Also, I'm not a big fan of the duo studios in Florida, but for a night or two, I'd assume they'd be fine. So I'm having trouble thinking that buying 150 points with high MFs is reasonable for this, with me using the rest (around 50-60%) for something other than VDH (likely Florida) at the seven month mark, when cheap resale points at SSR would do just fine for that.

This is what I mentioned back during the end of Sept when my guide told me about it. People thought it was just the Castaway member discount.
We'd already booked for the cruise back in Jan, I am a D23 member as well so it worked out totally to add on at Poly. Resale is not t that much less right now vs what we paid pp.
