Two Questions- What exactly is a zebra dome and can you get them at breakfast at Boma?? Thanks

A zebra dome is a small dessert, looks kind of like a white chocolate truffle candy. It has a mousse-like filling, tastes like coffee-flavored. They're good, but I don't see all the hype they get.

I know they have them at Boma dinner, but not sure if they serve them at breakfast. They also sell them at The Mara (AKL's CS place), but not sure if they are available in the morning during breakfast.

I personally do not like them. I could be mistaken but I think they have a little alcohol in them.

They do not have them at Boma during breakfast, but as someone else said they do have them at Mara in the cases. I have seen them there at all times, including the morning. If on the dining plan you can get them as a snack, or as desert with a lunch or dinner.

I am not a big fan either. Okay but not up to the hype. Definitely not at breakfast either. Even at Disney there usually isn't a dessert with breakfast. Not yet at least.:rotfl2:

Thanks for the help. I hear so much good things about them I wanted to try them, maybe I will have to get them at Mara after we go to breakfast. Although if they have alcohol in them I don't think I will like them. They look delicious though.

The coffee flavor was too strong for my taste.

That coffee flavor is from the liqueur: they definitely have Kahlua...about 1/4 ounce per Zebra dome. And no, the alcohol does not "cook out" during baking/cooking (the kahlua is added after cooking...and even if it's in there before cooking, it's not cooked long enough or hot enough to actually cook out the booze.)

Though I love coffee, prefer the real thing-not Kahlua-to get my coffee buzz. I thought the Zebra domes were really just so-so. Almost a waxy-texture (reminded me of the gunk you dip pretzels in to make candied pretzels...OK on pretzels but not on a mousse-cake) Between the texture & the Kahlua, did not like them. I suspect a lot of the "like" for Zebra domes comes from the affects of the booze, lol.

Pictures speak louder than words (not my pic, found it on google)

The last time I had them they were quite dry! I was so dissapointed! and I had them at breakfast on our honeymoon Sept 2008
