Can someone please tell exactly what is a Zebra Dome and what it is made of.:confused3:santa:

A zebra dome is a bite sized (well maybe two bite sized) dessert at Boma. The bottom layer is some kind of cake and the middle is a chocolate/kahlua flavored mousse and then it's covered in white chocolate with chocolate stripes. Yummy :goodvibes

I'm the only person on the entire DIS that doesn't like them - they taste of sour milk to me!

You're not the only one...I didn't see the hype, it seemed like something I could buy in the freezer section of the grocery store and thaw out. People either love them or hate them I guess - lol

Zebra Domes are on my "try list" for my Nov trip, last time I stayed AKL I either missed them or they did not have them at the time, but your post saying the taste like sour milk has scared me :scared1:

You're not the only one, I didn't like them either, nothing to do with the taste, I just thought there was to much hype about them and weren't worth the calories to me :santa:

I was excited to try them in Jan when we stay at AKL, but I don't like coffee or liquor flavor in my food. Do you really taste the kahlua?

I know I have read that the ones sold in Mara come in alcoholic and non alcoholic versions, not sure about the ones at the Boma's Dinner Buffet

If you take the free AKL Culinary Tour that is offered each afternoon, you will get to taste one when you tour Boma.

My DH and I LOVED them. Neither of us like coffee-flavored food or liquor, but it just tasted like chocolate goodness to us!

Thanks for the tip, I had mentioned to my DS that I thought his wife would enjoy the Tour so maybe we will be able to fit it in while there.

Me and my DD love zebra domes. We think they're yummy. I like Kahlua so maybe that's why:teeth:

I agree, I had heard so much about them being so good and I was so excited to try them, maybe I had too high of an expectation but really they were rather yucky.

I got some as a counter service dessert at Mara one night and tried to save them in the fridge for breakfast. They are far too rich for breakfast...

Do you have to stay at AKL to take this tour?

I think they taste like they have Baileys in it and not Kaluha. I love Kaluha but HATE Baileys - Zebra Domes yuck:scared1:- I was dissapointed! Now mickey domes at Chef Mickeys mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!:lovestruc

I think I bought into the hype too and so they weren't as great as I thought they'd be. But they weren't awful. The flavor was good, but they seemed kinda gelatinous or something to me...the texure wasn't as whipped & moussey as I would have liked.

But now ya'll have me craving Boma in general (and we won't be down there for over a year).
