We just got the People Mag HSM special. In it, it has a little bit about Drew Seeley and says he did the vocals for Troy in HSM, but that Zac will sing in HSM2. Is that true? Does anyone know?
I thought I had seen a tv special that said that they all had to be able to dance, sing and act b/c they did all their own stuff--I'd be interested to hear which is true also.
Zac Efron's singing voice was that of Andrew Seeley, who was also considered for the role. Seeley sang the entirety of "Get'cha Head in the Game" and the reprise of "What I've Been Looking For." Efron only sings the first four lines of "Start of Something New," the first sentence of "Breaking Free," and during the scene on the balcony. The reason for this is because Efron's natural voice was too low for that of a tenor and the producers wanted a tenor to match the role.

Yep it is true - they used Zac's voice for a little of HSM but it was mainly Drew's voice. Zac will be singing in HSM2 and in Hairspray - so I guess we will get to see what he really sounds like. DD is waiting patiently to see both
