Do you say "zed" or "zee" for Z?

I say zed. In my old job a couple of people from the US thought I was nuts when I'd say "zed" to confirm spelling in orders over the phone that had "z" in them.

I normally say "Zee" but at my job where I have to spell out order numbers over the phone at times, I will say "Zed" then.

Yes Dan, that's right. I say ZED too!

Our alphabet is taught to be ZED!!! But Americans more often than not will say ZEE

ZED here. I teach the kids zed, then, of course we will read an American poem, and zee it becomes. But we talk about the reason----rhyme.
