DH just drove in from NJ with six pounds of Jersey tomatoes, half a dozen Wegman's cinnamon chip muffins, and 30 assorted bottles of W-Pop! :woohoo: :thumbsup2 :cloud9:

I'm just bumping in the hope someone answers the W Pop question for us clueless souls.:goodvibes

W-Pop is Wegmans own version of pop(soda). They have a bunch of different flavors.

Your husband schlepped all this stuff from NJ to FL?

Were the muffins still fresh?

Yes, W-Pop is really good soda from Wegman's, and is also really cheap. :rotfl:

He bought the muffins and tomatoes Thursday evening, and arrived last night, so they are all quite fresh. :goodvibes I've got to take half the tomatoes to my hairdresser tomorrow, she's from NJ and she'll tell you the single thing she misses the most is fresh Jersey tomatoes. (I miss "real" pizza the most.)

I am soooo jealous. My tag "you can keep your stinkin muffin" tag came from Monkeyboy posting he had a muffin and we couldn't have one. I said unless the muffin was a Wegman's muffin, he could keep his stinkin muffin. :rotfl:

I miss their muffins and their white hots. Those are so yummy on the grill. Store brand or Zweigles are the best! Unfortunately, don't have anyone up there coming to visit and bring it to us.

Enjoy all your Weggie's treats!

ETA: Anne, we've got a pizza guy close by that learned how to make pizza from a guy from Lynbrook, NY. He has it perfect-orange grease and cracking crust. We're in there so often that he offered to teach us and then sell us the place. Come to find that the guy who taught him managed a place my dad bartended in when I was a baby. Small world. (Come on over one day and we'll have some!)

Ohhhhhhh...real pizza. Does it have enough grease that while you're eating it the grease runs down your arm and pools in a puddle around your elbow?

If you want I'll have Jim bring you some muffins next time he comes down, let me know. He'll bring muffins when he flies, but not tomatoes, and next trip is a flying trip.

Anne

I'd offer to bring some down in November, but I have no idea where there's a Wegman's around here.

Oh, gosh, how I miss Wegman's! My friend from Buffalo and I talk about Wegman's at least once a week.:)

We lived in Rochester NY for 3 years, so one of my son's first words was
"Waa-wans". He and I would go in and send LOTS of time in the candy bins.;)

I am jealous!!!!!!!
Jo

PS...their Rosemary/garlic fresh baked bread is the best!!!!

We are from Boston and are suckers for real pizza. We lived in IN & IL and they best pizza we could find was from Costco! :rotfl: They couldn't get the thin crust WITHOUT being crispy, with the orange grease soaking through. So sad ...

Then we moved to S. Florida and after almost 10 months we found a new place that opened in Wilton Manors, called Humpy's! :cool1: It's owned by two gay businessmen from NYC who vacationed here before deciding to move here and open a good pizza place!! It was darn close ...

Now we live in Coral Springs and there a place up th street that had the best pizza I think ever. It th perfect big slice with grease soaked through. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The crust is thin and soft, and at the top it crusty and soft inside ... YUM!!! We get it at least once a week!

LOL, It always makes me laugh how much people from the Western NY area (and beyond) get so excited over Wegmans. I grew up in Rochester and am living in Northern VA now, and I definitely missed it. Then, a couple years ago, we got our own Wegmans! It's a little ritzier here in Fairfax, so I don't do my regular shopping there, but I'll make special runs- or go when my mom sends me gift cards!

I'm partial to pretty much all of their baked goods!

Got to brag, Jersey tomatoes have been great this year!

Wegman's Pistachio Muffins are my favorite.

Wegmans is a grocery store that originated here in Rochester, NY.

They have EVERYTHING.

I'd kill for some really good tomatos. It hasn't been a very good tomato season here on LI.

Come on over to my house - I have so many tomatoes on my tomato plants I don't know what to do with them - I've given them to every person that comes over - and they keep growing!!!

Wegmans really does rock, doesn't it!??!? I live in a very small town, and it has a very small grocery store that I NEVER shop in. The next town over has a TOPS and I only go there for emergencies. I drive 18 minutes to the grocery store, just so I can go to Wegmans.

Love it!

Set up a little stand in front of your house and sell them! Extra money for a vacation fund :thumbsup2 .

Ahh...but did he bring the white cream donuts?

Is this Wegmans just a Jersey thing? 30 minutes to the border. Is it worth it?
