There are many good choices. We only do breakfast, a snack and dinner. We've been a bunch of times over the past few years and here are some favorites for my family (2 10 yr olds, me and hubby):
Downtown Disney:
2 good quick serve restaurants are:
1. Wolfgang Puck Express -salads, pizza, sandwiches, mac and cheese (homemade). Have been there a few times. Everything was delicious. The breakfast options here was awesome too. I enjoyed the breakfast pizza (minus the ranch dressing and tomatoes) and my sister and friend enjoyed the cinnamon french toast (mad eon a bagel with special k cereal and cinnamon sugar!).
2. Earl of Sandwich -excellent sandwiches. Our favorite is the holiday sandwich which is made of oven roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc. Delish! Kids are a little picky and didn't love the place. The bread is unique.
Table service choice:
3. Raglan Road - Irish pub. Loved this place. Was there last year for first time and went back a couple weeks ago. The bread is served with a dip made of guiness beer and brown sugar. Different, good. I loved the burgers here. Made with a great topping. The shepherd's pie was delightful as well. Irish step dancing starts at 6pm. Good show.
Desserts:
4. Ghiradhelli's Ice Cream-we go there each time we are at DTD Disney but didn't love it as much this time. Hot fudge was hard and it usually it so hot, it melts the ice cream too fast.
5. Goofy's Candy Company-LOVE IT. Kids love filling bags of penny type candy. Me - I love customized pretzel sticks. Cover them with chocolate and have them rolled in mini m&ms;!! They sell lots of large, yummy baked goods. Can watch them making treats. A "must do" for my family at DTD.
Magic Kingdom:
Our quick serve choices:
1. Cosmic Rays- as mentioned above, "Sonny" the alien plays tunes while you eat. Nice variety of foods here. I enjoy the rotisserie chicken here. There's something for everyone in the family here.
2. Pinnocchio Haus - Good choices here. I like the chicken caesar salad here. Nice atmosphere too if you can get a table by the viewing window into It's a Small World ride.
3. Main Street Bakery: Two words: Cinnamon rolls. Words cannot do them justice. You HAVE to try them. They are covered in oozy, gooey, warm caramel and icing. They are HUGE. Try one. Many other delightful sweets/patries. The homemade ice cream sandwiches are delightful as well. They are 2 large chocolate chip cookies filled with vanilla ice cream in the middle. Ummm!! My daughter enjoyed the coffee cake a couple weeks ago too. Although we haven't tried the sandwiches, they look awesome and are large.
Table service: THe Plaza Restaurant: Expensive but good. A hidden jewel. Although this is next to The Plaza Ice CReam Parlor, it is a separate restaurant. The sandwiches are large and good here. We've enjoyed the turkey club sandwich, the turkey sandwich and my husband just tried the meatloaf meal and LOVED it. It was better than what was served at Prime Time. Kids had grilled cheese and hamburgers and enjoyed as well.
Desserts: You HAVE to try The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. I love ice cream and let me tell you it is the BEST ice cream offering in all of Disney World. They serve the sundaes in homemade (warm) waffle bowls that they make in front of your eyes! They are spectacular!!
Sides/Appetizers:
The french fries at Casey's Corner are delicious as well.
The Mickey pretzels and churros sold at the cart across from the Diamond Horseshoe were big hits with the kids.
I haven't tried this but my sister and her family were there earlier this year and they all raved about the waffles at Sleep Hollow. They can even have them as ice cream waffle sandwiches!!
There is an outdoor market in front of the Hall of Presidents that I discovered a couple of weeks ago. They sold things like corn on the cob, large pickles and basked sweet potatoes. Seem like healthy, inexpensive choices. I will definitely try those next time.
You can't go wrong with the popcorn or Mickey ice cream bars or Mickey ice cream sandwiches!
Epcot:
Quick service: The only quick service we've really done here is Sunshine Seasons (and only for breakfast). Wide variety of options and everything was good.
Fountainview Cafe: Looks yummy and good variety as well although we've never tried it.
Table service:
Via Napoli: Overpriced but good. We've tried the pizza (very good), chicken park (delicious), spaghetti and meatballs (good). As for drinks, try the Strawberry aqua fresco. It is refreshing and delicious. For dessert, definitely try the zeppole. They are fried ricotta balls. The description doesn't sound good but let me assure you, I was once a sceptic but am not a convert. They are served with a thick, warm chocolate sauce and whipped cream. They are worth every calorie!
Italian restaurant (Tutti Italia I think it's called): haven't been there in a while. Not impressed.
Mexican restaurant: haven't gone in a while (pre-kids!) but we really enjoyed when we went. Atmosphere is romantic. Had Pollo (chicken) POblano. Really good.
Sandwiches and desserts were good in the French bakery and ok in the Norway bakery.
Hollywood Studios:
Quick service:
Starring Rolls Bakery: Everything is good here from the bagels to the cinnamon rolls, etc. The cupcakes look AMAZING here. Nice variety of pasteries.
Confectionary (can;t remember name of this but it is on the corner of the street Tower of Terror is on). THe desserts here LOOK amazing and are made in front of you. We were too full to try them but it is on our list for the next visit.
Table Service:
Prime Time - we always eat here. We like it. Hubby loves it. Atmosphere is fun but don't have elbows on table or you get in trouble!! The waiters and waitresses are your "aunts" and "uncles". Food is comfort food. When we were there win October, we noticed although the quality hasn't changed, the quantities got MUCH smaller. Hubby likes the meatloaf, daughter the chicken fingers, son the homemade mac and cheese and me the pot roast. Pot roast was really good. The brownie sundae is amazing!! Huge and loaded with a large brownie, lots of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, Mickey sprinkles and cracker jack (weird I know). Very good.
Hollywood and Vine: We ate there a few years ago because it was the only restaurant available for the Fantasmic PAckage. We then read lots of bad reviews about it ad were worried. There were 7 of us and we all really liked it. We even booked it on our next trip!! It is an all you can eat buffet and have different items we didn;t see at other restaurants. It was big variety. It was good for the kids instead of the same ole mac and cheese and chicken fingers.
Dessert table included mini pumpkin cheesecakes, chocolate mousse with milk and white chocolate shavings and a make your own soft serve sundae bar. Definitely would recommend this restaurant.
Boardwalk:
My son and hubby are sports fanatics so ESPN Restaurant is a must do each trip. Just a note, you can't get to the Boardwalk from any hotel so if you choose to eat here, walk there while in Epcot and take the boat from Hollywood Studios. If you try to go from your hotel, it will be like planes, trains and automobiles and take you 2 hours to get there!!The food is surprisingly good here. We've enjoyed burgers, chicken fingers, chicken caesar salad (really good!), turkey club, etc. here. The desserts were different and good too. My hubby got some sort of chocolate mousse dessert and mine looked like ice cream in a huge waffle cone but it was a 2 flavor chocolate mousse (chocolate and raspberry made to look like ice cream). It was surprisingly delightful. Great atmosphere here. My son and husband were in heaven with TVs even in the bathrooms.
Bakery: yummy
Beach Club Resort: Beaches and Cream: great ice cream
Resorts:
Chef Mickey's; My family's number one meal for breakfast, hands down!! It is an all you can eat buffet so it is expensive. We love the atmosphere (monorail running through) and the variety of food though. We love the Mickey waffles, quiche, fresh fruit salad, mini cinnamon rolls, chocolate brownies with chocolate frosting and Mickey sprinkles, sausage bake and my FAVORITE: breakfast pizza!! We love the interaction with the characters and the kids love the pressed penny machines in this resort and the arcade. My daughter and I love the gift shop. There are many items you can't find elsewhere. We hear the dinner buffet is equally good.
Wilderness Lodge: We finally tried the Whispering Canyon Cafe last month. Reminded us a little bit of Prime Time as it is a place with joking. If you ask for ketchup, they will make you announce your request to the whole restaurant and you will wind up with about 20 bottles of ketchup on the table. If you ask for a refill of your drink, you may wind up with a 2 liter cup and about 10 straws attached to make one veryyyy long straw. Kids liked the grilled cheese sandwiches and vanilla shakes. It was a buffet type option served family style. Food was good, not great They did not replenish it much. Desserts weren't anything we really liked, key lime mousse (we don't like key lime) and cranberry crisp (not a huge fan of either). I didn't have the dining plan, I wouldn't go again.
Did try Hoop Dee Doo Revue about 13 years ago. Cute to do once and food was good.
Polynesian : We tried Kona Cafe and don't think it lived up tot eh hype with the tonga toast. It was ok. We wouldn't go back.
Hope this helps. have a great trip!!
