Yuengling

Unfortunatly, the Yeungling you get in Florida doesn't taste the same as it the original from PA. I think it is the water in Pottsville, PA!! LOL!!! After having the original for so long (lifetime PA resident), the stuff in Florida has a different taste.

Just a word of caution about bringing cases of beer across state lines. Some police departments will ring you up with some hefty charges and fines for carrying across state lines. Beer used to be cheaper in Kentucky, so residents of SW Ohio would go there to stock up. Drivers would get stopped on the bridges or just over state lines and get nailed. Fines were something like $250.00 per container, not per case. I'm not saying live in fear, just be cautious.

In your opinion. I simply said I wouldn't go out of my way to track it down.

I know, I'm a beer snob & a homebrewer, so, yeah, there are loads of other beers I'd take over a Yuengling, but, in terms of what Americans have been sold on is a "real" American Lager (Budweiser, Miller, etc.) Yuengling puts them to shame.

But you're right, it's JMO.

Unless the OP is taking more than 16 gallons at a time, I don't think they will have any problems.

Generally (there are a few exceptions) as long as you are just carrying an amount that is clearly just for personal consumption and not for resale it is fine

I would agree that Yuenling is better than Miller etc but that still doesn't make it good hence my original comment. Again IMO which I clearly stated in my very first post on this subject.

I don't think it's good enough to go to any extra effort to track it down. But that's just me....

Totally agree. If the choice is Bud, Bud Light, Miller Lite, etc. and Yuengling, I'll take a Yuengling. If I were driving to PA for special beer, Yuengling would never make it into my car. Victory, Stoudt's or Troeg, yes.

I'd talk to your grocery manager back home and see if they can get it ordered for your store. My mother has had some experience getting her grocery to start supplying things she wants. Good luck!

With many products that can be done. With beer, wine and liquor, however, there has to be a distributor in your area in most cases. An inidividual store generally can't go straight to the producer to buy product.

That is how I feel. I'd much rather have a micro-brew but of the larger breweries Yuengling is one of the best, especially when compared to the swill Budweiser, Miller, and Coors makes.

It's always funny to me when I see people talking about Yuengling. To us here in Pittsburgh it's counts as a kind of "local" brew and nothing special. Don't get me wrong, I always have it on hand and it's cheaper than Sam Adams, but I don't think it's anything special. :confused3

Now my Brother who lives 3 hours away in Columbus has to buy some every time he visits and take it back to parties where he's worshipped for bringing it! :worship:

Same thing happened with Rolling Rock until that moved out of Latrobe, PA.

This is all very amusing. Individual taste buds so we can not all agree but I happen to like the Lager, Black and Tan and even the Light.

Matter of fact, I am sitting here finishing up a Light Lager after a 2:20:54, 13.13 mile training walking. Hits the spot really nicely even at 11:34AM.

Yeungling is my go to cheap beer. If I have the cash, I'll buy Blue Moon or Amstel Light, but comparing it to other supermarket beers (can't stand Bud or Miller) it is much better.

OP, you can find it in any grocery store in that area. Sams carries it too.

I like the beer and usually bought it when at the grocery, but recently decided that for a cheap good beer with fewer calories, I'd start buying Michelob Ultra instead. I like it just as much.

This is true.

We are Yuengling people....we usually get the variety pack (light, traditional lager, black and tan, and lord chesterfields ale)

We are Yuengling fans here too. It's harder to find since we moved from PA though. We usually pick some up when we're driving through West Virginia. Or have family bring some when they come to visit.

We can't get it in Ohio either so we make the 2 hour drive to Pittsburgh and smuggle it back here. It's best on tap though, but that's a little harder to transport. ;)

My DS currently lives on OH, and when he visits us, he brings home beer and Wawa Ice tea!

I had never even heard of it until we moved to Florida. It's very popular here and what I usually drink, but I don't drink enough beer of any kind to be that fussy about it. When it's available on tap, I like Bass Ale. I also learn towards Becks, Heiniken and that sort, but any decent (and cold) beer is just fine for me.

I usually drink Blue moon. I do like a Sam Adams. I was just told it was a good brew so I figured i'd try it. Hopefully it isn't coors, miller, bud quality.

From what people have posted I will give the Lager, ale and black and tan a shot.
