Yep, stayed up until the 11 news last night and our regional school was the only one on Cape Cod that didn't list as closing or early dismissal. But, yep, 5:20 am the phone rings and school is cancelled -- now I think we're the only one cancelled instead of early dismissal.

I need to be at work by 8, DD is still sleeping and I have to find a sitter in the next 30 minutes but here I am dising with you guys:rotfl: I hate snow days, I hate having to ask someone to watch DD, and I hate shoveling the crap after it falls. I emailed DS in Florida and demanded that he get out of bed and get the steps and car cleared so I could get to work. He should get a chuckle out of that once he gets his shorts and tshirt on and grabs his fishing pole:rolleyes:

We have no mountains, why do we need snow:confused3 If I want to go skiing, I don't mind driving the 3 hours to get there.

Well, better get the show on the road. And it better snow this time. The last time the Cape cancelled schools for snow last year, it RAINED:laughing:

If it makes you feel better, pretty much all of the schools in the Chicago suburbs are cancelled today. I knew that it was going to be bad when I woke up around 2:00am to the sound of freezing rain hitting the bedroom window. As I sit here and type, it sounds like someone it throwing BBs at my window.

As a home daycare provider, that means that may day will be much busier with the school kids here all day. I dread trying to keep them quiet while the little ones are trying to take a nap. :headache: I'm heading to my craft area to see what I can pull out later to keep them busy.

I am a bus-driver for special needs preschoolers and our last day was yesterday (thursday), but my boys (10&5) still had one day left (Friday). I was all set to have ONE day to myself to wrap presents, clean, etc with no kids around. This would be the only day until January 5 that I would not be without kids 24/7 (literally). Well - school was cancelled so I got up early (5:30 am)to start laundry and cleaning quietly. The 5 year old woke up at 6:30 in my bed (how does he do that so queitly?lol) so I turned on play House Disney (of course), and the 10 year old is still sleeping. I know they'll want to go outside in the 1-2 inches of snow expected. Yeah- right:confused3 The Wather Channel is still saying we're getting 1-2 inches of snow throughout the day. I guess they can't see that we already have about 4 inches of new snow on top of the 5 inches we got on Tuesday. We live between Detroit and Tledo and they are both calling for at least 6 inches. I don't know how the Weather Channel could be SO wrong! I'll get things done, I just have to be more creative!

It's not even snowing outside and our school board gave us a snow day.

I had to do Airband today and now I'm extremely angry.

I don't like this type of weather AT ALL!!

I got two phone calls this morning from an automated message (the first one @ 4:44am :scared: ) informing me that my kids' schools were closed. My dd was disappointed because there was a school dance scheduled for this afternoon. My son was supposed to go with his class to see the movie Despereaux (sp?) and later they were going to have a class party. This is the first snow day that they have had in at least five years.

As for dh, he works from home on Fridays--so he'll just log in and do his thing. I have to get up and go to work. I would call off, but I scheduled three clients to come in and if I don't show up--and they do, I'll feel really bad.

Have a good day and drive carefully.

All schools are closed here and in the surrounding counties. I was hoping for an early dismissal today since my kids start their vacation on Monday.

All the schools here are closed.
DH works for our local university but he still had to go in to plow the campus and he'll have to work all day even though there are no classes.
Today is my day off(I have to work the weekend)and the girls are home and already running out of things to do that don't involve fighting! I feel bad for them, though-their Christmas Program was scheduled for today, as well as their Christmas party.

I didn't see anything on the news either, other cape schools have early dismissals, but ours wasn't listed. Our phone didn't ring though. Our neighbors told us at the bus stop while we were waiting. Apparently it said it on the website, I don't want to look at the website to find out if school is closed.

I'm in central MA and my kids haven't been able to go to school since last Thursday!! This December certainly is one for the record books. They are pretty happy to have a 3+ week vacation!
