YSH, AP & Narcoosees... opinions?

My family are Yachtsmen fans! We have been to Nacrcoosees and the food was fine and to watch the fireworks was great but still like the Yachtsmen food the best . We never ate at AP.

While not very recent, we ate at Narcoossee's and YSH last sept/oct. While Narcoossee's was nice and not bad (plus we got to see the fireworks) YSH was really good in my opinion. The food was great and so was the service. We were even there during free dining. I think that was probably DH's favorite meal of the trip.

AP is wonderful - food is great and I especially like the Wash/Ore focused wine list.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is also very good. Great steaks and I've always had very good service there.

Never been to Narcoosees.

I ate at both YSH and AP a couple of weeks ago. YSH is one of our favourites and I'm pleased to say it didn't disappoint - everything from the service to the food was wonderful.

AP was the big surprise - we last ate there about 5 years ago and had a pretty good meal. This time the meal was exceptional! This is now our 'new' favourite. Service was the best I've ever experienced in a Disney restaurant, and the food was amazing! The Manager was continuously walking around the restaurant chatting to guests and making sure everything was running smoothly. This was one of the few restaurants that we didn't feel rushed.

After agonizing over which of these three to book as our 2TS I choose AP. Glad to hear it was so good.

We've done both Yachtsman & AP recently. Narcoosees not so recently.

Both AP and YSH are at the top of our list (in that order) for a really nice dining experience. You can't go wrong with either one. You might want to check the menu for each as they are very different. Go with the one that best suits your dining preferences.

I've been to all 3 but the most recent was AP. We ate there last week. It was great as usual. We've never had a bad meal there. Food, service and atmosphere were great. It was a little busier than usual. AP is my favorite of the 3.

DH and I have been to YSH and Narcoosee's but never to AP.

We ate at YSH in Feb. of '06 for our anniversary. We were disappointed --DH was not terribly impressed with his steak and I had salmon -- the worst I've had at any Disney restaurant (I tend to order salmon at most of the TS restaurants that we go to and it is generally excellent). The service was slow also -- perhaps it is a little unfair to criticize since it was Valentine's Day. I will say, however, that every woman was given a rose. Also, my DDIL called ahead (unbeknownst to us) and let them know that it was our anniversary so they gave us a plate of cookies which, of course, included a cute little Mickey and Minnie in a heart.

As for Narcoosee's-- we've been there 3 times and will probably go there again on our next trip. We found the food excellent, the service attentive and elegant and the atmosphere superb! We love it. And, in my humble opinion, their veranda is the very best place to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks!

what is AP?

AP = Artist Point (it's at the Wilderness Lodge).

I ate at AP and YSH last week. We also had an ADR for Narcoossee's, but we cancelled it and went back to CG for a second night because it was so good! AP was ok. I had the buffalo... I didn't really think it tasted any different from a regular beef sirloin, so I guess that's good for people hesitating to try it.

YSH had very good food, but our service was absolutely horrible, and that carries a lot of weight coming from two people who have worked in the restaurant service industry for a combined 30 years. But like I said, the food really was good. I had a filet and DBF had the 24 oz. porterhouse. I would have to say it was the best filet I tasted all week and one of us ordered a filet at almost every meal... I guess we just went on a bad night, and as a result, had bad service.

Even though we didn't eat at Narcoosee's, I have heard good things about it, so I don't think you can go wrong with any of your options... have a great meal, whichever restaurant you choose!
