After debating on whether or not to do a trip report this time I decided to go for it.

Let me reintroduce the cast - there's me "Minnie", a 49 year old self proclaimed Disney freak, my first trip was back in 1976 when I went with my Mom, Dad and youngest brother. Back then there was only the Magic Kingdom, and only one mountain, my how things have changed.

And we can't forget "Grumpy", a 45 year old Disney freak, who first visited in 1994 when we took our first family trip, he wasn't too keen on going, asking what was he going to do at Disney, as it was only for kids, lol, well now he's always asking when our next trip will be, we set a record for ourselves last year with 6, this year we've cut back to 2, with a possible third but that remains to be seen.

We'll be celebrating our 25th anniversary, meeting with DIS friends and just enjoying being out of the rat race for a while. With the heat and summer crowds we have plenty of down time planned so I hope to do daily updates live, but please forgive me if I get distracted while we're there.

We leave within the next couple of hours, we won't make the complete trip today, we plan on stopping off in Tallahasse and visting Wakula Springs, spending the night and checking in tomorrow at Old Key West.

So that's it for now, I'll be checking in tonight

I'm interested in how your anniversary trip goes. My DH & I are planning to go for our 25th in a couple years. We just got back in beginning of July from our "last" family trip, so I'm playing around in my head planning the anniversary trip, first one with no kids!

Where are you staying,BTW?

Well we made it to the halfway point, it seems to be a tradition for us to hit bad weather and today was no exception, we were'nt on the interstate for five minutes before the heavens opened up,

DSCF6072.jpg

It's another tradition for us to stop at the Florida rest stop for orange juice

That's Grumpy headed in to check things out

We stopped to eat at Po Folks for lunch, it was ok at best and won't be on the list for future trips.

We made our way to Wakulla Springs and took the River boat trip, it was nice but nothing spectacular,

I'll post more pictures later. We checked into our hotel and had dinner at Ted's Montana Grill, that one I definitely recommend and will be returning. Now it's time for an early turn in so we can get an early start in the morning.

Hi,

I plan on updating during this trip so feel free to read along, we took our first trip just the two of us the year we sent our youngest to college and have been going alone ever since. We have taken our kids and grandson a few times.

Happy 25th Anniversary. My DH and I celebrated our 25th at WDW in 2008 (and we'll celebrate number 27 in two months -- again at Disney.

Hi Debbie!

I'm looking forward to enjoying your trip vicariously! Happy Anniversary to you both!

We had a pretty uneventful drive, no bad weather which was great, we did see several of these though,

I love it when we get to the orange groves,

It means you aren't far from this,

Ater making our turn ohere,

We were almost run over by this,

DSCF6120.jpg

Definitely wouldn't have been the way we wanted to start this trip. Thankfully we avoided a collision and made it to our home or the next ten nights,

DSCF6121.jpg

Ater checking in we headed offsite to Joe's Crab Shak or lunch,

DSCF6123.jpg

Grumpy liked the guitar on the table, but he definitely doesn't look very thrilled in this picture,

DSCF6125.jpg

We had the mozzerellaa sticks for an appetizer,

DSCF6126.jpg

I had the crab cakes and Grumpy had the shrimp, I didn't get a picture of Grumpy's plate as my camera batteries died,

Happy Anniversary! I can't wait to see more pics. :)

Thanks everyone!

Oooh...love the looks of the food at Joe's Crab Shack. Funny....I called my DH "Grumpy" in my current PTR. :)

Here's a ew pictures of the studio at OKW, I had our anniversary noted on our reservation and I'm guessing that's why we got this particular towel animal,

The view from our balcony

And our first park on this trip, the Magic Kingdom, we chose this park specifically to talk to the Arribas Brother's glassblower, I had decided I would like a custom made vase as my anniversary gift and Grumpy agreed to it, too bad he had the day off. Here we are,

DSCF6136.jpg

You can see the construction going on as soon as you enter the park,

For those of you who have heard about the tour groups, believe there are toons of them here, not small ones either, each group is huge. Here is what Main Street looked like around seven, keep in mind that the parade didn't start until nine

DSCF6138-1.jpg

Stitch was having a dance party in Tomorrowland,

DSCF6140.jpg

We took the secret passageway over to Toon Town, just to check things out before they all change, I wonder how long before these are taken down?

DSCF6142.jpg

Here comes the train,

DSCF6144.jpg

And I had to take a picture of this guy, how tired do you have to be before you take a nap on the sidewalk?

DSCF6145.jpg

We're taking a break from the heat, so here's another quick post.

There are construction walls up all around Fantasylad, I enjoyed reading all the Walt Disney sayings,

DSCF6146-1.jpg

And the artist's renderings are beautiful,

This was the irst time I've ever seen directional arrows on the walkway across from Tom Sawyer's Island,

I can't believe we've already made it to the halfway point of our trip, :sad2:, I had intended to update more often but even though this isn't a "commando" trip we are staying pretty busy.

We didn't stay late at the MK that night but we did stop by the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness,

DSCF6157-2.jpg

and caught a glimpse o the Main Street parade on our way back to the resort,

DSCF6160.jpg

Thursday morning we were back at MK for EMH, we made it in time for rope drop,

DSCF6167.jpg

And were greeted by Smokey Miller,

DSCF6168.jpg

Along with a few other friends,

DSCF6171.jpg

And that's where my pictures or the morning stopped, my camera just died, it wouldn't even close, I had just purchased this smaller camera because I didn't want to carry my bigger one in the heat, needless to say I wasn't a very happy camper.

We spent the morning doing our MK favorites, but I just don't understand why they don't open frontierland for morning EMH :confused3

Thursday evening was spent at the Treehouse Villas at a BBQ with some DIS friends, we had a great time visiting with everyone. I was really impressed with the Villa, they are really nice, here's the men chatting by the pool,
