We are trying to save on our prescriptions. Our ins co. is not very nice when it comes to name brand rx's where there is no generic. So I am trying to find discounts, coupons or alternative places to purchase our rx's from. I found http://www.yourrxdiscounts.com/ on the internet and am wondering if anyone has had any experience with them?

does anyone have any other suggestions on rx assistance or coupons or places to buy?

I currently have our rx's at my local Meijer. They seem cheaper then CVS/Walgreens and Sam's Club.

thanks
Dan

I am a pharmacist for Target. That site more than likely just gives you a free prescription discount card which cannot be used with private insurance. It would only help you with something that wasn't covered by your plan. If you don't mind me asking what brand name meds are you on? Your best bet would be to talk to your doctor to see if you could switch to something similar that has a generic if at all possible.

I just saw your location, I work in SB sometimes when they have open shifts at either the SB or Mish store.

I am a medical insurance underwriter. I would also recommend checking to see if your insurance company has a mail order program. Even if you are paying full price for the drug and for 90 days at once it is often much cheaper than buying from a retail store as you are paying based on a lower AWP than say Meijer, there are usually lower dispensing fees as well. And as long as you don't have the drugs sent express mail shipping is usually free.

Also, you may want to request a copy of your insurance company's drug formulary. They will usually give a list of drugs that aren't covered or that is covered at the lowest benefit with a comparable drug listed next to it that is covered or that is covered at a better rate; I know that Aetna, Cigna, UHC and BCBS all offer this information online.

Good stuff! Thank You!!!!

I have not tried out Your Rx discounts, but I have tried internationaldrugmart.com - It is a discount paradise.

2 of the meds we need have a discount card through the company that have saved us 40% on one and 50% on the other. Wish I would have known about this years ago.

I did a "whois" search on the indicated site. It shows the registration is through "Domains By Proxy" so it is impossible to see who the site owner is or where they are located. And their web site only gives a toll-free number as contact with no indication of any physical address.

Personally I would not touch the site with a ten foot pole.
