You're scaring me away from concierge !!

Hi,

I was all set to stay 3 or 4 nights at the BC concierge...and then I started reading some of the posts. Our 15th anniversary is fast approaching and I wanted to celebrate that...but since we'll have our kids (5 and 8), I thought, great...they can have fun at SAB and have the option to stay at the Sand Castle club so we can have dinner at Epcot...none of which requires concierge....but I thought the extra pampering would make the stay very special...now I'm not so sure.

Paying the extra (although we are hoping for an AP discount - not going until late Aug or early Sept) is going to be a tough sell to my DH...but if the plates are empty and the staff is less than helpful...what's the point of concierge??

Thanks,
Jeannine

Where did you read these posts?

We are heading to BC Concierge in less than 40 days and so far they have been wonderful in the pre-planning department!

I already have my access key. They have not only arranged PS's and a Breathless Cruise for us but they also are purchasing little surprises for my DH and DD to put as pillow gifts each night of our stay!

They have also made plans with the BC pastry chef to make something very special for my husband to celebrate his overwhelming success as a first year coach!

They have returned numerous phone calls and we email almost daily about something new and different, and they are helping me surprise my husband with all of this!

The pre-planning alone has already been one of the highlights of my vacation, and I'm not even there!

Don't be scared by others...go with what YOU want!

Like for me, the pre-planning was a very important part of this concierge experience...and this is my first concierge stay at WDW!

Hope this will leave you a little less concerned and help you know you made the right choice!:wave2:

I've stayed concierge at five WDW resorts. Twice at the AKL now--soon to be a third time.

We had a very poor stay at the GF, although since a senior level management change there, I think things are improving. It was pretty much 100% guest service issues.

I wasn't thrilled with the YC, part of that was the staff and part of that was I didn't care for the layout of the lounge.

On teh otherhand, I LOVED the Polynesian, the BWI, and especially the AKL. We wouldn't be going back for a third visit in as many years if we hadn't had wonderful experiences ther e:)

Go and enjoy--I'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip, and happy anniversary!

Dont be afraid you will have a great time!! We just stayed Beach concierge in Jan and it was nice. We didnt like it as much as Yacht concierge but it is just a personal preference. for instance we HATED Poly concierge, and others rave about it so just relax and enjoy your planning. If you have never stayed concierge in Disney before I think you will enjoy it it is nice to be pamperd~~~:)

I LOVED all the concierge stays I have had... Poly was always my favorite.. but the CM's I loved the most moved over to AKL.. Don & Juanita... They are fabulous!! But the Poly Concierge is great... the AKL Concierge is now my favorite for a truly deluxe feel... and we just recently stayed concierge at the WL.. granted the WL has a lot to do to catch up to the other Concierges.. but the staff was great fun.. the food always plentiful.. and if something is empty.. just ask a CM.. and instantly it will be refilled..... and if you don't see what you want.. ASK FOR IT!!! They keep lots of stuff in the back for space reasons.. and cost I am sure... like soda's ... juices.. milk.. etc... and if you ask for stuff to be in your room... they will do that also... This past trip we would frequently not make it back to the hotel for the HorDevoures hours... and the CM's started making us up a plate of Cheeses and crackers and leaving it in our room for when we did return.. sooo nice.... I just love it.. but my WW points didn't!! LOL!!! GO FOR IT!!! You will Not regret it!!!

We loved our Polynesian Conceirge stay in Oct. 2002. We are staying at the YC conceirge in Nov. My son was 4 when we stayed at the Poly. And DH and I thought it came in handy for him. He loved the chocolates on the pillow, but not a good thing right before bed.

How do you arrange for concierge to purchase gifts for the kids before the trip? Do you just use your credit card now? Thanks, Carolyn

Thanks you so much for your encouraging responses!!!! This is something I really want to do....so thanks to your help I will!!!
