You're daughters wear what?!?!? oh shiny!

Wow I can't compete with some of these gals. I don't run, I am slightly out of shape, I am educated but I am not what you would call gorgeous.

How does one bow out gracefully from something like this?

Oh no you can't bow out now. Educated and very funny goes a long way, and I bet you underestimate yourself in the gorgeous category . We all do that for sure!

Okay, I've been following this thread from the begining and I'd like to volunteer to be the mat host (with Phil, of course) for the Amazing Race portion of this adventure. :rolleyes1
FD- I'm suggesting Bowling Green, Kentucky. We are the home of the corvette and a decent 10k every fall. I'll set you up with several. This is a college town and I know a lot of really sweet, and gorgeous, girls. What's your bottom age limit?

I've been BG on at least 4 occasions I can think of. I have a friend who worked in Louisville and loved the area.

The bottom age would probably be about 25. I've already done the whole finding myself stage of life that comes with the early 20's and don't really want to repeat it. Plus I don't want to sound like a creep.

I'm sure I can find something more entertaining to do than Lifetime movies.;) Congrats on the marathon, I saw your post on the WISH boards. I was in your neck of the woods over Labor Day for the Rock N Roll VA Beach half. It is flat and fast, I highly recommend it.

Oh, I also get the WE channel and Oxygen. And there's usually a Beverly Hills 90210 marathon on. Is that what you mean? ;)

Thanks! :goodvibes People like you and the other WISH'ers are very inspiring. I had signed up for the Rock N Roll half but didn't feel like I was ready at the time. Although, I didn't really feel like I was "ready" last weekend (as I had never ran 13.1 miles, the most I had done at the time was 10 consecutive miles) but figured I had nothing to lose. The crazy thing is I had been pacing about an 11 minute mile and when I ran the half I averaged 9-10 minute miles. All of that adrenaline! (and not wanting 90 year old men to pass me ;)).

Sanity and gorgeousness are good qualities though a little insanity can be fun from time to time. :thumbsup2

Between AustnTink and ILoveJack02 it sounds like Louisiana is the place to be. You guys aren't undercover Louisiana tourism people are you?
Laissez les bon temps rouler!

I love Oxygen, it's one of my favorite elements you know.

A lot of training plans don't have you doing the full race distance. I think if you can do 10 in training you can do a half and if you can do 20 in training you can do a full.

That race day adrenaline definitely helps, especially if there are a lot of spectators adding to the atmosphere. Definitely do the RnR VA Beach, or any other RnR race. They are the best organized I've done. They have one in New Orleans now which, from the way this thread is selling it, sounds like one I need to get to.

I should stop now, I don't want to be scolded for turning this into a WISH thread like I was for college football. :lmao:

OK this may be part of your problem. Forget about the marathon and start looking up the dates for Mardi Gras :lmao:

Oh NO you aren't!!!!!

Inner beauty is forever....

What we see on the outside will naturally fade away.

But with a good heart and soul, your inner beauty will shine until your days on this earth are done.

Now....get back to your spunky ways, girl!!!

It's the next week so I'll come down for Mardi Gras and stay for the marathon. It sounds like I'll have plenty to do to fill the time. :goodvibes
