Probably the worse moment was during our July 2005 trip. It started with DD4 getting sick in the elevator on the way down to the bowling pin pool at Pop. We weren't sure if it was a stomach virus, or maybe just something she ate. She didn't get sick again, but we stayed at the hotel the rest of the day. The next day, our last full day, everything was fine and we went to the parks as planned. On our departure morning, DD8 said her stomach hurt and my stomach was feeling a little funny.

While I'm taking my shower I got the urge that I was going to be sick. So, I stepped out of the shower and bent down over the toilet - and threw my back out!

OMG - I have had a bad back for years, but NEVER had I experienced that much pain in my entire life. I screamed and I couldn't move! So DH comes into the bathroom and puts a towel around me and helps me to the bed to lay down - all the while I'm still feeling sick to my stomach. DH gave DS12 a bunch of money and he took the 3 DDs to the game room while DH packed up 2 rooms of stuff all by himself while I just laid on the bed unable to move. By this time, the maids were knocking on the door, and DH kept telling them "just a little longer" - they were really nice about it. So, at one point, the kids were at the game room, DH had taken a bunch of stuff out to the car, and I'm just laying there in a towel on top of the bed unable to move. So, I'm thinking - what if the maids come back?

So, I think it might be good for me to attempt to put some clothes on, so I try to get up - I put one leg over the side of the bed and then I was paralyzed with pain. I didn't even have enough strength to pull my leg back up on the bed. So, now I'm laying there in just a towel with one leg hanging off the bed, unable to move - worried that someone was going to walk in on me!

Luckily, nobody did! Somehow, DH managed to help me get dressed and got me and the kids and all the luggage packed up and we finally checked out of the room about 2 hours late.

The 20 hour ride home was horrible - I was still feeling sick and the pain in my back ranged from mild to excruciating - depending on how much I moved. Then, somewhere in N Carolina around 10:00pm, DD8 got sick in the back of the car - luckily it didn't get all over the car, mainly just her blanket. DH pulled off the highway and I helped him clean her up and he just took her blanket and threw it in a trash can - we still joke about her blanket being somewhere in N. Carolina! But the funny thing is, when we look at pictures from that trip, you can't even tell all that stuff happened - we still remember it as a great trip!
