Hi everybody..

We are going to be staying at Ron Jon's for two night prior to the May 14th repo cruise. If you have stayed there, what did you think about it?
Jim

Hi Jim! I've never stayed there, but have heard many good things about it. We will see you there on Friday night!

Robin

Just back from a 3 night stay post-cruise.
The rooms are nice and they had a lot of activities. Kids kept really busy. They loved the lazy river, pool and water slide. Took shuttle down to beach and looked around.
Our room was clean. My sister also had a room and it was not. Dirty towels left, not vacuumed, Coffee grinds left in filter and trash left in room. Went down to front desk said they try to get it. Never did. At check out they brought it up again and all they said was sorry.

We had a deluxe 2 bedroom so we had a lot of room. I think we had 4 TV's and 2 DVD players. You can get movies to bring back to your room for free.
The food in the restaurant was good and the prices weren't bad. We order take out a lot an ate back in the room.
There is a great indoor playground for the younger ones. They also have a small outdoor playground. Game room with pool tables. Movie Theater with movies running most of the time. Miniature golf for free a much as you want.

Avoid rooms across from elevators and the stairwells. Door to the stairs slams shut. Very loud and there was an echo.
On Saturday and Sunday it was much more crowded. I don't know if the sell passes to locals many people had day pass. It was hard to find a chair. Thursday and Friday were great.
I would stay there again. Just wish people were quieter in the corridors. (That is a problem everywhere)
The kids really enjoyed it.
View from our room on the 4th floor

You also get a great view of the ships leaving port (Wonder leaving 4/21/05)

Does the restaurant serve breakfast? Can I ask you what you paid for the 2br? I would just ask for a 1 br for the 5 of us, I think.

Thanks for the info we will be staying there on the 17th and 18th May before we sail on the Wonder.
We are flying in from the U.K. and should be arriving hopefully about 6ish.
I imagine the kids will be shattered as its a 10 hour flight without the rest :goodvibes
Anyway if anybody has any info on the restaurant/food that we can get there I would love to hear from you.
If it's that good it will make life simpler and we can just grab a bite to eat and then crash out
Thankyou Chucklechops

No, the restaurant does not serve breakfast they don't open until 11:00.
We found free coffee in the morning on the 2nd level by the sales office. Only one person in our group drank it so we didn't bother to make a pot. I know the one and two bedroom have full kitchens with coffee makers. We stop by the supermarkets and bought stuff for breakfast. They even had dishwashers.
I brought the price list home:
High season/low season
Studio $155 $ 120
1 Bedroom $225 $ 165
2 Bedroom Standard $265 $200
2 Bedroom Deluxe $290 $235
Three bedroom $ 365 $ 365 (They only have 2 three bedroom available 1 month in advance)
Oceanfront and Oceanside Villas available, starting from $ 1800 per week(7nights)

I booked last July for this April and paid $235 than got 10% of with an AAA discount for a 2 bedroom deluxe that will sleep up to 12(that would be a little too crowded for me). So with tax it was a little over $ 235.

One other note:
The lazy river and water slide are open 9:00 am and close at 7:00 pm
The pool and hot tub are open 8:00 am - until 10:00 pm. They come out 10:00 and close off the pool area. It was amazing how many people didn't listen and took there time. A few minutes later they shut the lights out. Everybody moved quickly than.
Golf closes at 9:00 pm

The first night just about everyone in our group got burgers. We had just got off the ship and were actually tired of eating! The all said it was one of the best hamburgers they had ever had. You could choose regular French fries (chips) or sweet potato fries which everyone enjoyed. They had all types of salads and sandwiches. They also had full dinners but we were all full to get too much. They had a children’s menu, which had pasta, chicken fingers, grilled cheese and burgers. Sorry can't remember more. We took food out 2 nights out of 3. Got pizza the other night. They also gave you a coupon at check in for a discount at the restaurant.
Hope that helps

Thanks for all that info. One more question...I really would like to avoid shopping for breakfast. Is there anywhere close by, walking distance to get some bfast?

No, there is really no place around Ron Jons that I could see. It is mostly warehouses and offices for the port as you drive in. The other side all had condos that I could see. They do have a shop on the premises that sells milk, juice and a few other grocery items along with Ron Jon T-shirts. They also sell boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts in the shop and other snacks (novelty ice cream which my kids loved). You could always pack some bagel for breakfast (just an idea)

Okay, thank you. How bout lunch time, is there a hot dog type place at the pool or beach? We'd probably eat at the restaurant for dinner.
