Help me settle a silly argument. Do you wet your toothbrush before you squeeze the toothpaste on? I say yes, my friend says no way.

Told you it was a silly argument. :o

I don't think it matters!

But, I am with Queen, above.
Ewwwwww!!!!!!
I don't use a dry toothbrush on my teeth And, if you wet it after you squeeze the toothpaste, you risk the toothpaste coming off and washing down the drain!

I use plenty of water when I brush.

The rule ^^^

My answer is yes, always wet the toothbrush. To the OP, why not make it a poll? Be sure to include 'other' as a choice, as we know DIS'ers always have an 'other' reason, lol

Good idea! I've made it a poll.

And for even more detail......
I wet the brush thoroughly, run it over my teeth several times, rinse my mouth & the brush, floss, then re wet the brush--add toothpaste and then brush my teeth, lol.

And I do all that in private. I cannot stand for someone to be in the room when I am brushing and I can't stand to see other people brush their teeth. All those tv shows and ads where people are all talking with a mouthful of suds just make me gag.

Too much info?? Lol

I wet the brush before putting toothpaste on and then again quickly after the toothpaste is on it!

Me too.

Wet the brush to rinse off any dust that has settled on it since yesterday,* apply toothpaste, then wet again to ensure good sudsing. :teeth:

* I do brush twice a day, but I have two brushes and tend to use the downstairs one in the morning and the upstairs one at night.

I saw that I am SO in the minority here. I always put the toothpaste on my brush dry, then brush my teeth. I suppose I just think putting toothpaste onto a wet toothbrush creeps me out or something, I dunno. I have always done it that way. I know that I destroy toothbrushes quickly. I have this weird habit of chewing on them. I don't even mean to do it, just happens without realizing what I am doing.
