Ok, here is an "other". I can't get the picture out of my mind and I wish I hadn't heard this. This is a "family of a friend" scenario. The husband and wife stuck toothpaste out of the tube (yes the household shares a tube) and then inserts toothbrush into the mouth. :scared: Now y'all can be grossed out with me.
 
You should brush slowly and gently, otherwwise you increase wear and tear on your teeth that will surely show up around age 60 if not sooner. That said, the extra water introduced into your mouth by wetting the toothbrush first does not matter.
