I've heard a bunch of mixed reviews on this restaurant, so I just thought i'd ask any of you who have been there what you ordered, and what you thought!!

We ate there in November & I loved it! It was my favorite meal of the trip! We will be in the world in 2 weeks & I can't wait to take my hubby!! They had the best black beans I have ever had! I seriously think they must have had some cream in them, they were that good! If you like Mexican food I would definitely give it a try!!:thumbsup2

We really enjoyed La Hacienda. I would definitely go back.
Our server was excellent. This was a very enjoyable experience.
While I found the chicken to be the spiciest, the beef and pork were seasoned just right.
The only thing I didn't like about our dinner was the dessert. It was an apple turnover type of pastry, kind of boring.

It is not your typical Mexican food. The flavor is much more exotic. Our family loves Mexican but for us... it was so-so. If you are looking for standard fare with great portion size and flavor, this isn't it. All the dishes seemed to have a twist to them. I can see why many people would enjoy this, but we didn't. We wouldn't go back. The drinks were great though... Very Strong :thumbsup2

I just ate tacos at a spot in New York, and I thought while eating them that both San Angel Inn and Hacienda had better food...

I like the little taco appetizer but they are small. A friend and I split the seafood platter. We liked it.

Margaritas were excellent though.

Note the above post, Hacienda doesn't serve the tex-mex style tacos, burritos, nachos, etc. that many guests picture when they think of "Mexican food." Some of your opinion of this restaurant may be based on what your expectations are going in.

We just got back yesterday and ate there twice. We thought the food was excellent both times. Like San Angel Inn it's not a tacos and burritos type place. We loved the food!

The first time we ordered the La Hacienda, which is a combination plate for two consisting of flank steak, chicken and chorizo sausage. The second time I ordered the chicken and my DH ordered the pork tenderloin. He also had the shrimp tacos as a starter. Our favorite was the La Hacienda with the others coming in a close second!:thumbsup2

I was there right after it opened and loved it. I actually preferred the fish I had there to California Grill's.

We loved it, it was hands down the best one credit meal of our most recent trip. The full review, with pics, is in the link in my sig if you want details. :)
