I have an ADR for H&V for breakfast on June 12th. My DS is 14 months. Is it worth 22.99? That's expensive for Mickey to not even be there. Anyone been to this breakfast and have thoughts on the food and character interaction? TIA

We're going for lunch. That meal if free for him and reports are the kids just love this meal and really shake their booties with the characters. Just be sure to eat you money's worth! At first glance I too thought it was expensive. However, because of the focus on the little ones there are extra CMs there, guess that's the expense we're paying for.

Certainly worth it, but I agree, a bit expensive.

We went with our 14 month old daughter and have been back twice ... she was 3 and her brother was 1 and again at 4 & 2 ... we'll go again next year with our soon to be 5, 3and 1 year old! We like it that much. :thumbsup2

I think that the previous poster is absolutely correct, the cost probably has something to do with all the extra CMs because they are everywhere and so helpful!

The food is good, nothing great, but we enjoyed it and it filled hubby and me up. The little ones don't seem to eat much while there, too busy with the characters, but ours were usually free (under 3) so we didn't mind!

The character interaction is amazing and the little ones really seem to enjoy it. When we went last fall we followed breakfast with the PlayHouse Disney Live! show and then got to see the DoodleBops in concert ... It was the best day of the trip for our little ones, they still talk about it!

Hope you have a wonderful trip! Jennie

It's SO worth it. This is a MUST do for us every trip. Actually, my 18 &15 yr old sons (we have little girls who we usually plan the character meals for) loved it so much, we checked availability and were able to get a second reservation for our last day there that trip and it was great! The character interaction is fantastic there.

I can say, it's not worth the cost for the food, but it is definitely worth it for the character interaction. In addition to the characters, I have to say, the cast members we had at H&V were the best of any character meal we've ever done. They had all the kids up dancing and moving around, and the cast members even stopped by the tables to see if DD(2) was having fun. Great time. Average food.

We went for the lunch and it was the best character interaction.. My DS then 23 months loved it and he is very shy.

Foodwise- it was our worst buffet for the whole trip (we did a buffet character breakfast every day)

Interaction- my kids loved it. Not more or less than any other meal. I thought that we wouldn't stick around for Jojo and Goliath since we don't regularly see that on TV, but my kids wouldn't hear of it. I just asked and they said they wanted to go again next trip.

I would agree that the food selection is not the best...It is very basic breakfast foods...Selection is small and nothigng note worthy....Nothing was bad, it just wasn't exciting...

I think the fact that you child will be free makes it "worth it"...It will be on the expensive side for the adults...I don't think it is worth the price because the food selection just is not very good...

The kids did enjoy the interaction BUT they were a bit taken back by the characters size....The characters are very large and very costume looking...The first couple of times we went to Disney my kids thought the other characters like Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Donald were the actual people...My not yet three year old knew the Playhouse Disney characters were people in costumes...June's head is sooooo big that she looks a little weird....But the characters do take their time at the tables...

The dancing and parade are fun...But I don't think your baby can do that...So this may not be a great choice for your family this trip.

If food selection is important don't go....If your baby REALLY loves these characters, the price is more than worth it when you see the smiles.

I am VERY picky about food and restaurants. We had an ADR here at 8:05 am back in November. LOVED it. The food was fine, the place was clean, and there were only about 6 or 7 families on our side of the restaurant at our dining time. So, we got fresh food AND got a LOT of character time. Goliath spent time at our table on 3 or 4 occassions, and even convinced my DD4 that she should eat her banana. It was great. Even got a pic of DDW with Goliath and me with JoJo. Little Einsteins were a hit too. My DD4 got up and danced every single time while we were there. Then, as soon as we were done, we headed out and got our FP for Indiana Jones and then started touring the park.

For us it turned out GREAT. Great service as well. We will not be doing it on our next trip, but ONLY because my DD4 is into other characters now and we're looking to try new places. In fact, of all the ADR's we made this morning, only one is a repeat from our last trip (Coral Reef)...again only because we like to try new places.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

We loved it the breakfast buffet was better than Donalds at AK and there was more room and the characters were awesome great interaction ! I don't know what people are looking for in a breakfast buffet but if I have eggs , sausage and potatoes I;m happy!!

To the OP -- I noticed you are going in June....I think the price will be higher due to the "holiday pricing" in effect for the whole month.

Thank you to everyone for your responses. My DS does like JoJo but I am also thinking that the characters may be to big and intimidating for him. He didn't seem to mind Mickey but in the pics i've seen that the characters are really big.

We have reservations there on the 16th so it's good to see that it's worth it for the kids (that's mainly the only reason we are going for them and the character interaction).

I noticed someone said the prices are higher in June. How much higher are they if you don't mind me asking?

"Holiday" pricing in currently in effect at WDW. Many buffets and character meals are prices $4/Adult more and $2/child. There is no "holiday" upcharge for the Dining Plan, so another reason to get the DP if you plan to do a TS just about everyday.

As for the fear factor, keep in mind this meal is good for young kids, but it is very sensitive to the tots. Seeing others his "size" have fun with the characters, plus the assistance of the trained CMs will likely help him ease into the environment. Again for price all of the character meals will have this higher pricing.
