We will be arriving tomarrow (can't believe it!) We have never been over a holiday weekend and just trying to get a feel of what to expect for crowd levels. We will only be in the World this Sunday thru Wed. night. Your thoughts appreciated! :) :)

I think that it will be much slower than a usual holiday weekend. I was over there on Thursday and it was very, very quiet...

I have never been during a holiday weekend, but I would imagine that the Hurricane Katrina disaster will have an impact on the crowds for some time.

I was in the MK on Thursday morning crowds was VERY light till noon walked onto SM several times. Left the MK when the weekend crowd started arriving went back to the room for a break then went to Epcot in the evening this was an EMH night but even then we could tell that the WS was much much more crowded than other nights all week as we'd been in Epcot Mon- Thursday nights. It was crowded enough we didn't even try to see Illuminations Thursday night we'd seen it several times since arriving anyway. Thought we'd walk over to see HISTA and do Soarin one more time but both of them had half hour wait so we left the park and headed back to the room early beat the crowd of of Epcot.

Jiggerj, I will be there the same days. (Checking into the Boardwalk!) Going up on Sunday and departing on Wednesday. (We are driving up from Tampa.) I have been there over the holiday weekend before and the crowds are not bad at all. You figure a lot if not all of the schools are now back in session so not many people are on vacation, and beyond that with the whole Katrina disater, gas prices, and limited availablity everywhere, I bet crowds will be minimal, if not extremely manageable.

My mom was at Busch Garden here in Tampa today and she said it was a ghost town! They did the entire park in like 4 hours. Walking right on to every ride....Ahhhh, if we could be so lucky at Disney!

Have a great trip! :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earboy2:

In the past we've noticed it heavier on the weekend, then everyone leaves Sunday or Monday, and then after that it's VERY empty. I think you are going at a good time.

Thanks everyone for your replies! Crossing our fingers (toes too) that the parks wont be too crazy. Planning on doing the parks early then back to resort in afternoon. This is our first trip to VWL as DVC owners and am really excited!

Destination Disney- I will have on my lime green Mickey head on my bright yellow backpack! Enjoy the Boardwalk!!!! :). We are planning on a Boardwalk evening Monday night with dinner at Spoodles. Cant wait! :).

EPCOT was like a ghost town yesterday... but then again there was a Thunderstorm coming. We were able to walk around the countries and not bump into anyone!
Magic Kingdom was Ok today... not overly crowded, but not as bad as I've seen it before.

For a holiday weekend, it's really not bad. :wizard:

I'm going Sunday-Wednesday too... staying at CSR! I'm super excited! I'm really anticipating low crowd levels. From what I've heard lately it's been slow and that it may only get crowded Sunday or Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday should be a breeze!!! See you guys down there! :sunny:
