For what it's worth, Dolly isn't feeling well right now - she just postponed a number of shows that she had scheduled in Vegas.

Hopefully we don’t end up hearing the special report of her dying. I hope she gets better… Dollywood won’t be Dollywood without Parton. Country music wouldn’t be the way it is without Parton. The representation of women in country wouldn’t even happen… without Parton. Please get well soon.

No artist is going to change their music or views to not reflect who they are ... I don't think that is what he meant. And I would say in all of the music world your lyrics and music are a reflection of you and your beliefs.

POV: I think what he meant was don't wear your party/political/person shirts, hats etc. Don't sneak in a sign or flag. Do not speak or shout to others about your beliefs. Most certainly do not be verbal towards others who you don't like for whatever your reason. If you are going to his concert, just enjoy the music, dance and have a good time. BUT his words are still his words, and if you don't like them or him don't bring your politics in the door, stay home.

He is not overtly political but most certainly has public views, public actions and clear on the issues he supports. He does speak of a unified world ~ but he also supports issues that folks are divided on.

I was speaking towards your comment about politics being a part of music, not every artist is writing their own lyrics, not every artist puts their personal beliefs in it but certainly some do and they are very vocal and overt about it. Hip hop and rap have been common avenues for that IMO it flows well for that too N.W.A old school style is one that has always stuck out at me.

As far as Pitbull, being that I was there at his concert no that is not what he meant (ETA: he was saying this stuff while he was on stage, it would have been far too late to tell people not to wear stuff, not to bring flags in, etc although again that wasn't what he was meaning). He absolutely wasn't meaning don't wear your politics as in physically don't wear them or don't bring a flag (remember this was in 2021 or 2022, different administration different time period in many ways). His entire point was put all of that stuff aside, for the night, everyone come together regardless of your beliefs, to have a good time for the night..cue Time of Our Lives and everyone dancing (which for real was what happened) *that* was his point because music can be enjoyed by us all and we all can let go and have fun. (ETA: Pitbull is the party artist after all).
