Your Shameful Disney Secret??

Ok, I think my mania beats yours- I am planning a trip to WDW for 2012 (the year my boys graduate from high school) and I already got the Unofficial Guide to WDW so I don't have to plan at the last minute! :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Welcome cowgirlminnie!

Ha-ha-ha :rotfl2:
That is the same book I have too, I go on their website and look up prices and everything by that book.

I last went on the Haunted Mansion back in '97 and went on it last year, and I'm really not impressed with it. I guess I thought it was cute at the time, but sorry, I really don't like it.

:( I kinda have to defend the parents with strollers here.....please don't get upset it's just something we have dealt with on every trip. I agree some parents can use them as steam rollers. However, I can't tell you how many times we're going at a good pace and someone just stops dead center right in front of us. I have stopped suddenly on more than one occasion and have been ran into from behind in the process. But hey at least 'I' didn't hit anyone. That being said, I haven't been able to stop every time. If I need to stop, I check behind me to make sure I'm not just stopping in the path of someone. It only takes a second to merge to the side. The others are those that want to get around the stroller, which I totally understand, BUT when you step right in front of the stroller you're likely to get that ankle hit again. I would never do it on purpose but it's kinda like a car, you got reaction time and you can't always stop on a dime when the person in front of you cuts you off or stops suddenly. Pushing a stroller in Disneyland isn't easy. I'm sorry you experienced that, but in the future maybe look around before just stopping suddenly. Just thinking of your ankles. :flower3:

ITA with this. I have a double jogger (I don't bring it to Disney) and when I am pushing it somewhere like the zoo, it's *really* hard to stop suddenly if someone darts in front of it. That's 100 pounds of kids + stroller, and I walk fast. If I remembered anything about physical science I could probably come up with some equation about the speed and mass and velocity or something, but let's just say stopping suddenly is hard to do, as is changing direction suddenly. Obviously I try my hardest to avoid people, and I don't think I've hit anyone, but it would be far better if people were aware of their surroundings and moved off to the side before tying shoes or having conversations, or letting their children run.

I don't mean to belittle the original concern at all. Just making a case for us stroller folks so we can all stay safe :goodvibes.

I can echo mechurchlady's sentiments--using a scooter, I can't begin to tell you how many times I've come close, going at a slow speed, to hitting someone because they just "stop." Or they step directly in your path (even looking you in the eye). My real shameful Disney secret is that I can't stand people who have the attitude that whatever they want to do when they want to do it should take precedence over everyone else and everything just because they're them. I see it all the time as DLR and it really annoys me--be it what I posted above, or line cutting or what have you. Just disgusts me.

LOL I have to agree with you....it was kinda funny this last week when we were there...DBF and I joked with each other that when it says no smoking in lines it didn't apply to the two in front of us in line for dumbo. Some people just don't think the rules apply to them. Like the line waiting to see Mickey is just for looks. We want to just wait while all the others push their kids to the characters while others stand in line and miss out because the character leaves after the line jumpers. Ok I'll stop now....:hippie:

Secretly I'm scared of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I have been ever since I was 7 when I rode it alone and nearly jumped out of the car and walked out.

My DH just doesn't understand why i won't give it another chance. But for me, I'd rather get an ice cream. :rotfl:

People actually DO that?! That is nuts. I was once line jumped (or I don't know the word for it) where I was in line getting something to eat for my cousin ( she was in a wheelchair at the time) and the person in front me was approached by another person and asked "Can I cut, it will be REALLY quick" The person in front of me agreed and then all the sudden a WHOLE group went in front of us. It may have seemed like nothing, but I was annoyed.
"breath" That is annoying.
