Trying to plan our itinerary for our January trip. We were originally going to do MK on Friday, but now with that being EMH day for MK, we thought maybe we should go Saturday instead. Which day do you think would be least crowded?

Thanks for your help!

By the way, it would be Sat. Jan.29

Friday is less corwded period-- Saturday brings MANY MANY locals-- if you go to the MK and get there when it opens-on Saturdays- or better yet schedule breakfast at the Crystal Palace and be IN there BEFORE it opens-- you can get most rides with little to no lines but by 11:30- it is CROWDED--

While it is hard to predict how pm EMH will effect attendance. I would be willing to bet that Friday morning and early afternoon will be less crowded than anytime on Saturday. Maybe go both mornings to MK and when the parks start to fillup do your toher agendas. We went at end of Janurary last year, and were able to do the entire MK by 2:00 pm. It is a great time to go.

You are not going to believe this, but Len Testa, of the Unofficial Guide, says that their numbers do not show any increase in MK attendance on weekends, or on Spectro days for that matter. It's hard for me to believe, but it's also hard to not trust their experience.

I was at MK, on a Sat, at the end of Jan. 2002. I scheduled this day because it was the only day Spectro. was scheduled, during our trip. And my Dad was meeting us at Disney for 1 day only and wanted to go to MK. I was a little apprehensive, but it turned out to be a very pleasant day. There did not seem to be a lot of people in the park. I was just there the week after Thanksgiving, this year, and there were far more crowds that week then that Sat. in Jan. In Jan, We walked onto every ride, except Peter Pan, in the evening. And that was because there was a 15 min wait and we were spoiled from no lines, so we got FP's. We even got a good curbside seat, on main street for Spectro., about 15 min before the parade started. I wouldn't hesitate to go to MK on a Sat. in Jan unless there is some kind of special event.

I don't know - but then I know you can't really trust the previous years slow time anymore - I think the economy is getting better then it has been since 9/11 and so more people are going to WDW then in the last couple of years. I know in October it is supposed to be a slow time but when I went in Oct it was packed (they even had to extend the hours at MGM the day we were there because of the amount of people there) But it may have been so crowded then because of the hurricanes the month before - I know I had to postpone our trip (good thing I did because I Jeanne hit that weekend and we had to prepare our house since both Frances and Jeanne came through and hour north of where we live) I also think more people are figuring out when the "slow" times are and are going then so that will make it crowded then normally. Though I hope past attendance is acurate because we are making another short trip in Jan before my sister's season passes expire.
