Your opinion on when to do MVMCP

We are planning a trip in Dec 2004. We did MVMCP during our trip last year and definitely plan on doing it again. On the next trip, we plan to stay a bit longer and all of our days won't be spent in one of the 4 parks (the kids have been begging to do some of the water parks as well!). Do you think it would be better to do the party on one of the nights that we're not going to the parks? Since that might be on a weekend, is MVMCP more crowded??

Well, the Friday night parties do tend to sell out the quickest. However, it is certainly possible that the other days will sell out as well (and thus the crowds will be the same). I would pick the day that works best for your schedule and go with that date. If all else is equal, then choose the weekday party over the weekend night party. It will be a while before 2004 dates are announced - hope Disney goes back to having 12 parties (instead of the 10 they decided to have this year).

To me, planning to spend a day at a waterpark in early December is somewhat risky. Florida weather in December is quite variable and can be very hot or very cold. We've been under both conditions and there's no way to know much ahead of time. My advice is to have a back up plan. No matter what you do that day, it is a good idea to plan for an afternoon rest/nap. But since you've been before, you already know that!

I usually go the first week of Dec. The Tue and Thur night ones are still selling tickets. The weekend ones usually are sold out or almost sold out. This is due to the locals come on those nights. Later in the month I have no idea.

We like to go to the outlets on the morning/afternoon of MVMCP. Last year they allowed entrance after 4:00pm with the MVMCP ticket, we got there about 4:30pm and it was a great jump on the party, lines were low. We have always gone Sunday, Monday or Tuesday night (nights scheduled were different each year), the past 5 years.
