Your Mother's Vintage Tupperware

:lmao:That ice cream thing must have been designed on the principle of "If you build it, they will come". Who on earth though you needed to take your ice cream out of the paper box and put it in a plastic one? Red's mom, I guess.

The butter holder was marketed as a hot dog holder. When you opened the package you were suppose to but the ones you didn't cook into the top and use the bottom part as the lid.

The first bowl set were actually cereal bowls. Can you tell I went to lots of Tupperware parties?

We still have the pickle container but as Mexicans, we use it for Jalapenos! LOL
We used ours for beets too! Lol

In the 80's/90's my mom still had a bunch of these and still does. My sister and I totally had the toddler toy and a toy complete set of dishes, saucers, cups and a pitcher lol.

Thank you for all the Tupperware photos, I'm sure my mom had a lot of those items. I was a Tupperware manager at one time back in the 90's but surprisingly I don't have much of the product. Just the yellow strainer and the measuring cups.

OMG, we had so many of those, including the jello mold. The jello mold was actually a very important piece of Thanksgiving and Christmas, because my mom would make a molded dessert called Tutti Fruity that involved mixing lime jello, maraschino cherries, pineapple, marshmallows, chopped pecans and MAYONNAISE :crazy2: Kind of the special family recipe. Still makes me want to hurl!

I don't have any of my mother's Tupperware anymore, but I do have several of her Joys of Jello cookbooks. There were plenty of disgusting-sounding recipes, some using mayonnaise.

Even as a kid, I was Whaaaaaaatt?

From your post, we only had the awesome 70's color set (green and that rusty red color) and the infamous pitcher which pushing that button was hard for a little kid.

I still have a few pieces today.

The top is a celery crisper (the lid was too far back in the cupboard for me to get.) I don't know why I still have it, it's never used.

The measuring spoons used ALL the time. I have a lovely Williams & Sonoma set but the Tupperware I keep grabbing.

The gold bowl -. That's my cereal bowl I've used since I was a kid. I had 2, but my roommate right of college put one in the micro and melted it. I was really bummed about that. Break a new dish, I don't care. But my vintage Tupperware ... NOOO! ;)

Oh, just remembered my cinnamon/sugar shaker!

It's stained from the cinnamon - I'm thinking it needs to retire. :scared:

We also had these:

These cups we NEVER used!

My Mom still has this. Best colander EVER!

We had this shredder thingy too -- it was never used. How can you shred with Tupperware?

I got the spoons, my sister got the cups. Saw her use them not too long ago.

Ah, the toddler shape toy!

We have the complete set of those bowls in the second photo, they were big in the 1980's too because that is when we bought them. Don't use them much since they aren't microwave safe.....LOL....found that out after using them in the microwave for nearly 25 years!

I just started to use my celery crisper again after decades of non-use. It is perfect for Romaine Lettuce.

image.jpeg We still have a sugar and creamer set similar to these. Not sure if they were MILs since DH had them when I met him.

I believe Tupperware has a lifetime warranty.

Yes, they do. DH was trying to get me to bring the broken pieces ( we have picture as well) to the party last night but I was too chicken. I didn't know anyone as I went as a guest of a friend. Of course then someone came with her broken items so I felt more of a wimp. Lol. A friend of mine signed up to host a party so I will bring them along with me next time.

My grandmother had this shredder. I shredded a lot of cheese. Your picture is missing the box/attachment bottom that held the cheese. So, you ran it across the grates on the top and it shredded everything into a little container. It actually worked great!

I can't recall seeing the bottom -- maybe that's why it never got used.

Glad it worked! :thumbsup2

I had most of those pictured. When I got married, a dear friend who had moved several states away sent me a big box of Tupperware. She sold the stuff & I received so many pieces from her. Still use some, but have gotten rid of a lot. (& when you melt a lid, it's best to grow out the bowl too!)

That is awesome! I remember my parents having some of that exact stuff when I was a kid, like the shredder thing, colander and canisters. :cool1:

My grandma and my mom both had a ton of tupperware. My mom is still using a lot of it. Great memories!

Wow had so many of those. There was a hot dog holder I used constantly and a hamburger patty maker which I still use. I also still use the measuring spoons but most of the other stuff I've either donated/sold/tossed. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
