:goodvibesHi DisBoarders!
I'm new to the boards, so I thought I'd start a new thread. I'd like to hear all of your most memorable experiences at WDW. Bad ones, good ones, scary ones, funny ones, awesome ones, you name it! (as long as its apporopriate) or if something happened to another family during your trip that you saw (i.e, in the line you were in, same restaurant, etc.) feel free to share those too!

Here's a funny one to start you off. I was petrified I would bring my son, then just under two, on the Haunted Mansion ride and that the ride we get stuck and he would be scared and cry. It did stop and when every thing was quiet my son let out a huge WHOOOOOOOOO! Jack GHHHOOOOOOOOST! I will never forget that! Everybody laughed so hard!

One of our family's memorable moments was somewhat accidently taking my DMIL on Aerosmith. She wanted to ride TOT with my DD and we knew it would be safe for her. After that, there was no line for Aerosmith, and we couldn't let the opportunity pass, so we went on that too. Afterwards, she said something like, "I don't need to do that ride again." Amazingly enough, she looked cool as a cucumber on the pictures.

Awwwwww!!!!!!

Our first time at Disney and at AK we went on Kilamanjaro Safari. The previous day we had seen the Little Mermaid show at MK and during that it rained. So we are on the safari and low and behold it starts to rain! We thought that was part of the attraction too! But no, it really was raining and we had to dash to a cart to find some ponchos lol!

Another one. This one is embarassing! We had gone swimming on this last trip. I took off my clothes and left them all together laying on the floor. We got back and got dressed again to go to the parks. I thought nothing of it and got a new pair of underware and got dressed. We got off the bus at MK and I felt something in my pants leg. I was wearing capris. It was my underware I had worn earlier in the day lol! I had to have my family shield me so I could remove the item in question without attracting that much attention. My family didn't let me forget that the whole trip.

wow guys these are great XD My first trip to disney I was too short to go on the RRC so I sat outside with my mom, heart broken and determined to grow those measley 3 inches before our next trip. Sure enough, by trip #2 I met the requirements but I had no idea what was in store for me- i wish my picture was as "cool as a cucumber"esque as your MIL's. Does disney have to take the picture at the LAUNCH? i mean come on, 0 to 60 in what, 2 seconds? thats a little much for a nine year old, and my picture was mocked by a few teen agers after the ride. But i was very proud of myself for enduring the ear- blasting, gut renching 2 minute ride. :rotfl:

We just had our diner at Crystal Palace. The date is July 3, 2008 the day before I start my 50th lap around the sun. We get a nice spot to view the July 4th fireworks. The girls spot a half a dozen tiny rabbits munching away without a care that thousands of people are milling about. We hear a soft click in the distance and the rabbits disappear. The show is about to start. What a show. We were completely surrounded by fireworks, what a show!
That was just the start of my birthday celebration. We spent the next day at our resort, Boardwalk. We relaxed ate cake relaxed ate ice cream and then we relaxed. That night we went to Hollywood for the fireworks, another great show. That's how I celebrated my 50th birthday. It doesn't get better than that. :cool1:

My DH is a big SciFi buff and of course he always brings a book while on vacation. My DD was asking about the book one evening and told us the next morning that she was dreaming of flying a rocketship just like the people in Daddy's book. That day at Epcot we went on Mission:Space. She got off the ride and screamed "Daddy! Daddy! Last night I dreamed I flew a rocketship and today I really did it! Dreams really do come true at Disney!!!!":rotfl:

sooo cute!!
And that sounds like the best 50th b-day ever! I love seeing the little bunnies outside the CP :D

My most tearful memory is of last August. I took my sister's little 8 year old granddaughter to WDW and she was going to have the BBB:) Well, after we were finished and she walked out on the Castle steps looking just so beautiful, she turned to me and said," Aunt Marilyn, I didn't know I was this beautiful." Then the tears started again...yes, I shed lots of tears at MK:)Her comment melted my heart.

that is absolutely adorable!! i'd love to see some pictures if you have any! :)

I have one for all those times you're stuck on a bus with a crying kid. This was our first night riding back to the hotel from HS. It was fairly early (8:00 or so), but there was a toddler age kid that decided he'd had enough. He screamed from the time we got on until we got to CSR. We had used ME to get from the airport to our hotel that morning, so I think my 6 yr old was a little confused when he leaned over and said to me, "Why don't they'd put him with the luggage!"

Not sure if it my most memorable moment or not, but, during a trip in Oct 2009 this is what happened:

It was our first day at Disney and we went to DHS. My husband, grown son, two of our friends, and myself. After the park closed, we went out and got on our bus back to the Pop. For those of you who don't know, music plays on the buses (well, at least to the Pop) and it is usually older music and sometimes tv themes. The theme song from "The Jeffersons" was playing. I believe it is called "Moving On Up". Jim (my friend) and I started singing along with it and before we got too far down the road...the whole bus was singing along. It sounded great and was just amazing! That was so much fun! I will definitely try it again in the future when riding the buses.

ok...here is another one:

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Disney in November 2009. We had a reservation at the Brown Derby and we were wearing our anniversary buttons.

The waitress went out of her way to make it extra special. First, she took our picture with her camera. Second, she brought out a couple of chocolated-covered strawberries along with two flutes of champagne. Lastly, at the end of the meal, she brought out a two-leaf booklet that she had made proclaiming us as the stars of the day. It had our picture and congratulated us on our 22nd anniversary. That was so nice of her to make our celebration extra special.

This one is funny/embarassing story about me.
It was our first trip to WDW. It was my mother and myself, we were staying at POR. One of the days when it had been raining quite a bit, one of CMs put out one of those yellow caution when wet signs. I wasn't paying attention and tried to open the door in front of the sign. It wouldn't open. I tried pulling and pushing and then I used my butt. Finally, I looked at my mom and shrugged my shoulders. I said "maybe its broken" Mom was looked at me with the straightest face "Maybe you should try the DOOR not the window."
I was pushing on the full length window instead of the door. :rotfl:
Now, no matter where we stay my mom asks if I know the difference between a door and a window

We've had a few magic moments....one is when my DD turned 2 at WDW and we got her the button and all day did special things like lunch w/the princesses and supper at Chef Mickey's. She got a lot of attention! When at last we thought the day was over and were grabbing a bus back to our resort with a sleepy little princess, the bus driver turns on the light and announces "It's Graci's 2nd birthday, lets all sing her Happy Birthday!" The whole bus burst into chorus, and Grace just smiles from ear to ear with wonder! I cried!
Here she is that day...

aww she's adorable!! and the one with the window is hilarious XD

DD has started Illuminations! Ran around with Capt. Jack Sparrow during the PPP from 11:30-midnight!, Captained the Liberty Bell, had meet and greets with the cast from the Lion King. Wonder what new adventures May will bring!
:hippie:

I think my most memorable moment was during the 25th Anniversary or 1999 (I guess it wasn't too memorable, I can't remember when it was!!):rotfl:

You could pay extra $$$ and stay at the MK after hours. Because you had to pay extra, many did not take advantage of it. I just remember walking through AdventureLand with my daughter with the Tiki Torches, and the music...having that part of the park all to ourselves practically.

Another memorable moment was when my daughter was 9 and a huge NSync fan. They ended up filming a TV Special/Concert at EPCOT so we got to see them.

I miss Disney!!!! I can't wait to go again!!!!
