Your Most Magical Moments

I have many memories but here are my 2 favorites.

1. 2004-My ds(16) and his high school band marching down Main Street in MK. The band had worked for 4 years to go. DS stayed with the band at the Radison while dd(14) and I stayed at ASMo. We had never been to WDW. 2 bands were going to march that day before the afternoon parade and we were to march first. DD and I are sitting on the curb when the first band came through and it wasn't us. They were a small band under 100 kids but they were great. We clapped and hooted. A mother sitting next to me started crying and we knew she had a child in that band. A little break in the action and then we HEARD our band before we saw them. We are a marching band of 180 kids. The music kept getting louder and louder when around the circle in front of the castle they came. Now it is my turn to cry. My son is 6'5 and plays the tuba. It was so easy to spot him right there in the middle of the band. I lost it and the mother next to me started crying again. We looked at each other and started laughing while crying. DD just rolled her eyes.

2. 2005-We went back to WDW ds, dd, and myself. We stayed a PC. We had the best time just the 3 of us. On the day we were leaving dd and I walked over to the generation gap bridge and stood there for a little while when she asked if she could feed the turtles. No Mickey, fast rides, or any of the glitter. Just dd, me and the turtles when she looked at me and started to cry. I asked her what was wrong and she said nothing. "I just want to thank you you for bringing me back mom! I love you!"

In 2008 she will be marching with the band and I will be sitting on the sidewalk crying again! I can't wait!!!

:goodvibes We are truly blessed to have had some wonderful Magical Moments thanks to some WONDEFUL CMs durin gour last three trips.

November 2000 was celebrating DD's first birthday. I am a teacher and we really only go to Disney over Thanksgiving break-although we broke out of that this year when we went in June-and DD is lucky enough to have her birthday fall over the Thanksgiving holidays. Anyhoo we didn't know about birthday buttons back then but DH and I were doing child swap at Test Track. My mom and sis were waiting with her in the TT gift shop. Apparently she was playing with the crash dummy Goofy quite often and caught the eye of two of the CMs working. At some point my sis told them she was celebrting her first birthday. When we came off the ride and left the th shop, one of the CM's called after us to come back in. There she was presented a b-day card signed by the CMs and the Goofy! I couldn't believe they would spend their own money on a child they met so briefly!

November 2004 It has been 4 LLLLOOOONNNGGG years since our last Disney trip and now we have a DS3. Of course it is Thanksgiving again and DD's 5th birthday. When checking in the CM asked DD how old she was. She was shy so I answered, "She will be 5 tomorrow!" The CM said I bet you like princesses and DD nodded. The next afternoon there was a knock at the door and the same CM was holding a balloon bouquet with a signed, personalized card from Cinderella. Also the birthday button works wonders. She also got a serenade from the entire tour truck on AK's Kilimanjaro Safaris. DS was not to be left out though because two days later we took the Family Magic Tour and Peter Pan took a huge liking to him. Sitting him on his lap in the moving, crossing the velcro on his shoes so that he would never cross swords with anyone.

June 2006 DS is dressed in a Peter Pan costume. We are at Toon Town waiting to meet Sleeping Beauty and Jasmine. The CM working in the room make a fuss over the costume and asked DS if he had met PP yet. He said no. I reminded him of the trip before when he not only met Peter Pan but got to go on Philharmagic with him! The CM looked at me and whispered that PP was coming to the same room in 15 minutes. I said "Ok we will have to come back then" She told me not to get back in line, just exit the room, turn right and follow the hallway to the rope. So we did and a bit later another CM came and escorted us back to the same room. It was empty and my kids were looking at me like *what are we doing* Then the doors opened and in walked Peter Pan and Wendy. Peter Pan says, "Aidan! Remember me? I took you on Philarmagic last time you were here!" (He had a special guest name badge on) OMGoodness now I am getting teary-eyed again. Aidan was speechless at first and then proceeded to chat up Peter Pan. Wendy gushed all over DD, and we had about 3-5 minutes with them all to ourselves. DS still can't beleive that Peter remembered him!

I beleive in magical moments! They keep us going back! pixiedust: :tinker:

oh my days im welling up so much to each and every one of your stories....its so wonderful to hear peoples true magical stories...it makes you realise why Disney have been the creators of dreams for the past 50 years!

We were in the MK the night before my daughter's b-day. It was almost midnight and we were near the front of the line for BTMRR. Thanks to a surreptitious comment by my BIL, right at 12:00 the CM comes on the PA and has everyone in line sing Happy B-Day to a new 17 yr old. The crowd was enthusiastically loud, and she was so embarrassed, and we all loved it!

In Sept. of 2005 DH & I arrived at MK before the park opened. I've been to Disney lots of times but I didn't know about the opening show at MK! We were so moved by it; we felt as though the whole show was meant just for us.

We had skipped breakfast at the resort and opted to purchase something quick at the Main Street Bakery. We finished eating and wandered over to POTC. We still had a lot of coffee left, but we figured there would be a short line that would give us a chance to enjoy a little more of it before the CMs asked us to pitch it. But there was no line. At all. We zipped through the cue and found ourselves at the loading platform with quite a bit of coffee left.

DH asked the CMs if we could ride with our coffee, and they said - in pirate-y accents - that as long as the lids stayed on the cups, it was fine. So. We get in the front seat of our boat since we are the only passengers. And it hits us - this is Monday morning, and we are drinking our coffee on POTC instead of behind our desks at work. :surfweb: And we had a boat to ourselves! It was very cool!

We took our girls in May of "05 for there first trip we were insanely lucky well DD was. She being 4 at the time is a HUGE BElle fan  - so we knew we wanted to do the Storytime with Belle show not knowing that kids got picked to be in the story. It was the first thing we did as soon as we got to MK when the girls came out and they started picking kids to go up Emma was of course standing raising her hand amd I was in my mind- Please pick her Pleas pick her- well they did and as they were leading her up on stage my other DD who was almost 2 took the CMs other hand (if my sister goes I go) she thought she was a little too small but Alli was not having any of that so Emma got to be Cogsworth and Alli got to be Chip. I will never forget the look on Emma's face when she go to to out on stage and talk to Belle and hold her hand- the look of awe and just joy on her face made the entire trip worth it for DH and I she has her picture of she and Belle sitting on her bedside table and shows it to everybody who comes over. On our last day Emma was also chosen to pull the sword from the stone - so they did the whole ceremony and paraded her around the little sword area and she was Queen of MK of 5 min - she started crying - she did not want to be a Queen she wanted to be the Princess!

DH proposed right in front of Cinderella castle in December 2003! I wasn't expecting it one bit. He sent me to save us a spot in front of the Partners (Mickey and Walt) statue while he found someone to take our picture. There were a few CM's there and he told one what he was going to do and told her to keep taking pictures. It was an amazing moment I'll never forget! :cloud9: Wishes that night was the icing on the cake! I cried through the whole thing - all that talk about wishes coming true!

My most magical moment... SHE SAID YES ! :yay:

this past easter, dh, myself, dd6 and ds4 were sitting at the railing at the noodle station in MK waiting for tink to fly and wishes. I had explained to the kids that tink would fly right over our heads... To appreciate why this is such a special moment to me, I have to tell you that ds is 4yo, almost 5yo, and he was a very, very sweetie-pie kind of baby and toddler who at around 3yo turned into what seemed a much older, very tough little boy. So he's no longer my sweetie-pie, but a wise-cracking, handful-and-a-half, rough and tumble little boy who i love dearly, and just once in a while i get a glimpse of his little boy sweetness. SO, we're sitting waiting and i look over at ds and he has a napkin unfolded flat like a sheet of paper in the palms of his hands, outstretched, and i ask what he's doing and he says in the sweetest little voice, so seriously, "it's for Tink to land on". He's not even cracking a smile, he's concentrating soooo hard on keeping the napkin flat on his hands so tink can land on it. Of course i burst out crying. It was my sweet little boy sitting there.

DD then 3 wore the snow white costume to Disneyland. She is just gorgeous but even more so dressed as snow white. Her hair was even the perfect length and dark brown. Anyway we walk in and we see all 7 dwarfs I look at DH and I say I must have this picture. Problem is she never let any character near her! Some how DD did it!! She sat on Doc and I have the most perfect picture ever of my snow white and the 7 dwarfs!!

Mine really has nothing to do with the parks at all or even it being any special experience or anything. It was just a simple moment.

Back in 2003, my dh and I were staying at POFQ. He woke up around 7am one morning complaining of a huge headache and asked me to go to the gift shop to get some aspirin since we didn't think to bring ours. I quickly got dressed and walked over to the gift shop. It was a gorgeous morning and maybe only one or two people were out. I got the aspirin and bought our E-Ride Night tix (obviously eride night was still around). On the way back to the room, I just enjoy the walk and took my time (poor dh :lmao: ). It was so serene with all the lush landscaping and no one around...just really quiet. It was such a nice and peaceful moment and one of my favorite memories.

awwwwwwwwwwwwww... i can imagine that would be incredibly magical! :wizard: congrats very very belatedly! LOL!

My most magical memory of WDW is a few years ago and we were at Crystal Palace and prior to the trip I said I was to cool for Pooh and how sissy it was so we got there and my mom asked if I would take a picture of her and my dad with Pooh well we get over there and I see Pooh and nearly tackle him by hugging him and I'll never forget how hard my parents laughed and how hard it tackled Winnie the Pooh.

I also have a couple that I chose

1. We were the family chosen to open MK. We had purchased a new Pal Mickey for our 6 year old son, who was looking so forward to getting one. We had the CM's give it to Mickey backstage so he could bring it out and "give" it to my son. He had been talking about getting one for months before, so when Mickey walked out with it, he was so happy that Mickey knew that he wanted one!

2. Again, we were the family chosen to open MK (a different time), and sat with Mickey, and The Mad Hatter and Wendy on the train. There is a delay while the singers do their thing and the train is sitting just out of site of the front gates, so we had time to talk to the characters. Of course Mickey doesn't speak, but Wendy and the Mad Hatter were super. Later that morning, there was a crowd waiting for Toontown to drop the rope, we noticed the Mad Hatter and Wendy coming out. They recognized both the boys, screamed their name and rode the teacups with them. Everyone must have been wondering how they knew them.

3. Older version of opening the park (MK) was the children would pick a magic word and everyone would yell it and the gates would "magically" open. Again, some charater interaction, this time with Cruella DeVille, who later during the parade spoke to my son, remembered his name and asked how he had enjoyed his day.

Really, even if you don't have kids and you are there, just watch the faces of the children when the characters wave to them, pick them out of a crowd, or whatever. These kids feel so special, I almost makes me cry.

Our whole Disney Experience was amazing. Each day was filled with special moments, but the last day, the last 1 hour, of our time in Disney was purely magical.

On our last day we decided to finish up some of Epcot in the morning. We hadn’t seen all of the countries in the World Showcase yet and we didn’t want to miss anything. After that we planned on hitting the Magic Kingdom for another go around on our favorite rides. We would watch the fireworks there and then head back to Epcot for Illuminations. It was the day before DD 8th birthday and she had decided that she really wanted a Chinese Umbrella as her gift from us. Because they are large and we still had more than half a day at the parks to go we decided we would pick it up when we returned to Epcot for the Illuminations presentation that night.

At the Magic Kingdom we played the birthday card…. mentioning it was DD birthday. …And we were able to go to the front of the line at all the main attractions. (Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain). When we came out of Space Mountain it was perfect timing for the fireworks. We got a terrific spot on the bridge between Main Street and Tomorrow Land. We could see Cinderella’s Castle lit up in radiant colors. It couldn’t have been better if it had been a commercial on television. The fireworks were spectacular. Music, lights, fireworks and lasers all choreographed perfectly. And to top it off, a complete surprise to us all, Tinkerbell flew right over our heads in the finale. WOW! It is now about 8:15 at night. Illuminations was scheduled to start at 9:00 in Epcot. No problem. We had plenty of time.

DH decided he wanted to get a picture of us in front of the castle. We walked to the other side of Main Street where they have a Kodak Moment spot where you can get a perfect shot of the castle. A very nice man offered to take our picture together. The only one we would end up having of al of us on our trip. During this time other DD (5) spotted a little cart selling rain umbrellas that were painted with your name on it. They were closing up shop but if she wanted one that only needed her name added they would be glad to do it. She was thrilled with her pink parasol. It was getting late and we knew we had to hustle if we were going to make Epcot by 9:00.

We decided to take the Ferry over since we figured it loaded and unload more people quicker than the monorail at that time of night. Well we were not the only people to think so. The line was very long. We ended up having to wait for 2 ferries. I kept checking my watch. We were cutting it very close. We were sure that once Illuminations started that all of the kiosks would close and DD would not be able to get her Chinese umbrella. She was starting to panic.

We finally loaded on to a ferry and we were off. It was about 8:40. Half way across the lagoon the ferry stopped. Oh no! We did not have time for this. The other ferry was still unloading and had not pulled away from the dock yet so our ferry had to wait. Though I am sure it was only several minutes it felt like FOREVER! At last we finished our trip across the lagoon. We still had to take a monorail to Epcot from here. It is after 8:50. We dash up the ramp from the ferry, running hard to the monorail. We were determined to at least try to make it but we knew it was a long shot at this point. We were alone in the car on the train. We reassured DD that one way or another she would get the umbrella. We would call guest relations and they could send her one. But she really wanted it tonight and she wanted to choose it herself.

As you know, China is almost half way across the lagoon in the World Showcase. Before even getting to that section of the park you have to go through Future World. As the Monorail pulls into the station we have 2 minutes until 9:00. We all start to run down the ramp to the parks entrance. DD falls! As she quickly gets up, her arm bleeding, I yell to DD and DH to go on with out us. There is no way my littlest DD will be able to keep up this pace. Off they sped. Only seconds behind them DD5 and I enter the unmanned ticket turn style. The park was closed.

We could not see DH and DD anywhere. I was surprised because I didn’t think we were that far behind. Other DD and I dashed though the crowd but finally gave up and stood on the bridge in the middle of the park and watched some of the fireworks as we caught our breath.

When DH and DD had run into the park gates they had seen an abandoned park stroller. DH told DD to jump in and they dashed off through the crowd. This is why I never saw them. DH zig zagged though the crowd that had gathered around the lagoon to see the show. The area was mobbed. It was like an obstacle course. Fireworks were being shot off all around them. DD said she felt like she was in an action movie. They worked their way around the World Showcase. They could see all of the shops closing up but they didn’t slow down. Soon they were at the umbrella hut. It was still open! DD found the blue umbrella she wanted but hey could not find a sales woman. Had the frantic trip been for nothing? they asked. Suddenly out pops a small Asian woman. DH and DD surprised her as much as she surprised them. She said no one usually comes to her shop during the performance. DH told of our heroic efforts to get back to her shop in time. She asked DD her name (Hannah) and then wrote it in Chinese on her much-desired umbrella. DD could not have been any more thrilled.

Just then other DD and I, out of breath, round the corner before the Chinese pavilion. I don’t know if I should hope for the best or not. I want DD to get this so very badly. I didn’t see them anywhere at first. Then there she is smiling from ear to ear and holding her new treasure. The four of us embrace and jump up and down hugging and laughing. We did!! The Illuminations finale was going off, the perfect backdrop to a remarkable experience. A truly Magical Moment.

This thread's a keeper. Thanks to all for sharing.

I agree - threads like this should be pages and pages long! This thread is the first time DH ever posted on the DIS! :teeth:

There are so many Magical Moments! One that I recall vividly is when we were at Cinderella's castle for Princess breakfast. Now at the time my 2nd son was 3 and he LOVED----Pocahontas. We don't know why, he just did! :confused3 Never in a million years did we expect to see Pocahontas greeting the kids at the "holding area" before we were seated. My son was so excited, his eyes lit up and he had the biggest smile . He ran over to meet her, when an older boy said "Look mom that boy likes Pocahontas!!" I guess he was too "manly" for such a thing. Needless to say, my son heard the comment and was embarrased  . He then saw he was the only boy in line to meet her. Pocahontas overheard the exchange, and said loudly "Well there you are little prince, I've been waiting for you! I know how much you like my movie with John Smith and Meeko and all the GUYS. I'm so glad you came to meet me and I would love to take a picture with just you!" So we stopped the line, took the picture, and ds now loved Pocahontas even more than before :lovestruc. Not just because he got to meet her, but because she kept his manhood intact! I guess peer pressure starts early. :rotfl:

So many but this is the best last year we were having a princess breakfast in Norway and I never expected to see my favoirte character Cinderella! I was told not to expect her because she never comes to that breakfast. DD7 was beside herself and I was almost in tears. Then at the end of our meal. Someone was knocking on our window, We all looked out and DH said HEY! it's Mulan. She quickly gave a smile and blew a kiss and dissapered. That made for a Magical Day! :cloud9:

I have to say my favorite memory is the first time I went to DL, I was 6 years old and will never forget the first time I saw the castle. It was the most magical feeling to really see it in person and not on TV. Then I remember I bugged and bugged my grandma all day to ride IASW, she just kept telling me it would be soon, (I know now she was saving it for the very last ride). When it started to get dark out my Grandma said it was time to ride IASW, so I was holding my aunts hand and looking back towards SM and when I turned around I realized I was holding on to someone else, I looked everywhere and couldn't find my family. I just stood there and started to cry, I couldn't believe I had lost them and was going to miss IASW. Then a nice CM walked up to me and asked me if I was lost. She was so nice and reassured me that she would help me find my family, she took me back to City Hall. When we got there I saw several kids crying and waiting (some had been there for a while) for their family members to come and claim them. I was just about to sit down, when I heard my Grandma call my name. Lucky for me my Grandma had been to Disneyland many times and new exactly where to go. IASW was so fabulous! I still love to ride it, but the memory of the first time will always be the best.

My newer magical moments are seeing DL and our first trip to WDW May 2005 thru the eyes of my kids. My DS9 and SDD17 have been such a joy to take. I love to hear them talk about our trips and the memories they have. We are in the process of planning our 2nd trip March 2007 and they just love pulling out our photos and looking at them. I love to hear "remember . . . . Mom, we have to do that next time". I'm so glad that we are able to share the Disney Magic with our children. :wizard:
