Your job?

As of this moment I am currently a librarian, however at 3:00 today I will be unemployed as the base where I work is closing and today will be my last day to work. I enjoyed being a librarian the short time I did it, however, I can not see myself doing that as a forever job. I am an administrative manager by trade and I much prefer doing work in that line. After the summer off because I will be moving and resettling I hope to get back into that (admin. mgr.) field once again.

I'm a Registered Nurse on a Cardiac floor. :)

I've been a kindergarten teacher for the past six years and will be moving to first grade next year. It's the best job I've ever had!

worked at a computer newspaper for 12yrs before DS was born
then worked parttime until he was out of Kindergarten

Been working at our town library in the children's dept for 6yrs now - some days I love it, some days I cant wait to go home.
I work the circ desk checking in/out, other circ duties include sending overdue notices/bills. And I enter/delete the books - all the tech serv end of it too (this I like better than the desk)

i'm a medical transcriptionist and work at home for a local hospital in the area. I basically type the medical records of patients while the doctors dictate them to me.

I'm a court reporter for our judicial circuit which includes four counties plus do freelance deposition work. Been doing that for 15 years now and love it.

Heather :wave2:

I am a technical writer for the Department of Defense. I manage technical manuals for Army systems.

I absolutely love my job and cannot imagine doing anything else...except maybe directing independent films.

I'm an office manager at a community college. I work in the Social Science Department. I love working with faculty and students! It's not that stressful and the pay and benefits are great.

I was also a service writer for many years at a Ford dealership! It's not a traditional job for women and I really enjoyed it, as well. I am glad not to have the stress anymore, though. No one is happy when their vehicle breaks down and sometimes they take it out on their poor service advisor.

When I left that job, I worked at a different college in New Mexico working as secretary to the President. One of the guys I used to work with told me that instead of having twenty old men yelling at me all day, I only had one! My boss was a breeze after that experience!

Programmer Analyst/Web Coordinator for a large international company. Hate it, but the money is too good to leave. DH is up for a large promotion next year, if that happens it will be easier to walk away from this and into something I love that pays less.

Anne

Supply Chain Analyst / Programmer for a small, yet growing private company that sells tires to high-end car dealerships around the country as a middleman.

I love what I do -- it allows me to combine my two loves and skills, accounting/finance and programming. :)

I am the office manager and bookkeeper for a manufacturer of precision optics. This is not the career I thought I'd be in (I am also a lawyer) but I enjoy the flexibility I have while raising two small children.

Denae

Manager of a small credit union. Can be a wonderful--can be horrible--depends on the day. It can be a lot of pressure at times. I'd like higher pay, but as a non profit you can only expect so much. It's always new and challenging though!

I am a "Domestic Engineer" and LOVE it!! :lovestruc

I am the Chief Nutritionist, Head Cook, Nurse, Customer Service Rep., Lead Financial Planner, Interior Designer, Curator of All Things Precious (aka avid scrapbooker) and Errand Runner.

There are many more things I do during the day but this is just a glimpse.

We have no kidlets (Yet! Please send some Pixie Dust this way) and many people say, "What do you do all day? I'd get so bored!" So, I've come up with this cute little answer. I mean they've got to be kidding! I'm more busy now than when I did work full time!!

Oh, and I also help my husband in the office of our Small Business.

Thanks for letting me share! This is fun!

I'm in the Air Force. I just started my current job two months ago. I'm a Workgroup Manager in Logistics. I used to be a Special Assistant to a three star before this job (a very thankless job). Im VERY happy now where I am, I make my own schedule, do my own thing and create my own world. I'm the only person in my office that is qualified to do my job. :p

I have worked in Transportation for a large forest products (paper) company- Weyerhaeuser for over nine years. I deal with trucking companies all day- negotiate rates, set up contracts, and analyze a lot of data. I enjoy it most days but working for a big company has more than it share of red tape.

I run my own business as a consultant with a direct sales company.

Dan Murphy is a financial planner...well you learn something new every day!

Great thread!

I am an Association Management/Event Management Consultant. I work with three clients at present. I do a lot of writing, membership development, creative problem solving and event planning.

I enjoy the variety and flexibility, but it is not easy juggling the needs and interests of three diverse clients.

I work at the County Courthouse as a Clerk in the Juvenile Department. I take care of all the delinquency files, Child in Need of Protection and Services (CHIPS) files, and Adoption and Termination files. I absolutely love my job and most of the people I work with, including our judges. I have been here for almost 4 years.

I also work part time in the fall and winter as a dance teacher, which I have been doing for 10 years, with this past year off during my battle with cancer. Love this job as well.

I also work part time at Sears Portrait Studio. It is my "fun" job, plus, I can't beat the discounts!! Oh yeah, I met DH while working here as well (just another perk!!).
