Your Go-To DLR Park Shoes

Vionics sandals are the best for me for walking for several hours.

I have a job now where I am on my feet for 7-8 hours/day and I need massive arch support. I use Taos Freedom sneakers and those are the only shoes that have kept my feet/legs from hurting at the end of the day. They are expensive, but since they keep me out of pain, they are worth it.

I went to a running store and got fitted for proper shoes for my gait (I am NOT a runner, but I wanted shoes that won't cause my pain in my legs, hips). They suggested Brooks Adrenaline. I wear these probably 75% of the time. Then I'll switch to crocs (with a canvas top) or my Reef or Sunuk flip flops to let my feet breathe some. So my go-to for the parks are my Brooks sneakers. In these shoes, my foot feels well-supported and not just cushioned.

I wear UnderArmour flip flops. If I get cold, I put on 'toe socks'.

For those who wear Crocs, aren't they 'sweaty'? I have a pair I wear occasionally and they're really comfy as far as fit goes but I don't wear them a lot because they don't breathe and have no 'real' ventilation. I'd think it would be like having your feet wrapped in saran wrap.

The issue I have with Disneyland is not the walking but the standing. I found my HOKA one super cushion running shoes are the most comfortable. I also have Keen sandals and while I could walk miles and miles in them after 1/2 day at Disneyland my feet are killing me as they don't have the cushioning that I need. I also have tendinitis in both my ankles and I swear by kinesiology tape. It gives my ankles just the little bit of support that I need but is not bulky.

I have flat wide feet and bad ankles, so the right shoes can make or break a trip for me. So far my favorites have been my Nike Air Monarchs.

I'll also join the rest suggesting changing socks often and rotating shoes everyday, especially if it's warm out. It's amazing how good a clean, dry pair of socks makes you feel and nothing is worse than walking around the parks in wet socks after ridding one of the water rides.

I also love the above mentioned Smartwool socks. They really are amazing, I use them while hiking and backpacking and I never have blister issues.

I wear the style of Cros with open sides: https://www.crocs.com/p/womens-kadee-work-flat/200941.html

Besides, if they get sweaty you can just rinse them out and let them dry!

I've been wearing Bernie Mevs for the last several years. We are open to close park people and my feet generally aren't even tired at the end of the day. I think it is because they are very lightweight. They don't weigh down your feet. They are good for packing if you are flying too because they do not weigh down your suitcase. I usually bring a couple of pairs and switch them every day. You need to break them in by wearing them at least a few hours on a day sometime before your trip- so they will stretch and mold around your foot. If you try wearing them 13 hours the first day without ever having worn them before the tops of your feet may hurt by the end of the day. I can wear a brand new pair for 3 hours one day to break them in, and then I am fine wearing them for 13 hours in the park. I like the comfi, charm or sandal styles for the parks. They have a ton of different styles. Bernie Mevs and Body Glide have been amazing. Before body glide, I always got blisters now matter what I did or what shoes I wore. Since I started using Body Glide on my feet in the morning, I have never had a blister at WDW or DL. Since I started wearing Bernie Mevs- I can go from open to close without feeling like my feet are going to fall off- or that I can't possibly walk all the way back to the hotel.

Body Glide is aces! I use it where my flip flop straps touch my skin, especially between my toes. BFF used it on her feet when she was wearing some tennis shoes that weren't 'quite right' and she had NO blisters or rub spots!

But what do you wear to walk around in whilst they're drying? My crocs get all 'squeaky-rubby' when they're wet inside.

But those Kadees are really cute!

I try to paper towel them dry as best as possible. I also pack more than one pair and will switch during the day. Speaking of... I'm due for a new pair!

I just ordered some more chaco's from the REI.com garage. Extra 25% off so they were only $37! They also have Keen and other supportive brands.

I have plantar fascitis also. The first time I ever knew about it was after a Disneyland trip. I went to the dr. haha!

Brooks are recommended by the Dr. I tried some on but they weren't my thing. I have done ok adding inserts but chaco's have the built in arch support!

I'm really watching this rain forecast. If it's bad I'm bringing my rain boots and inserts. ;)

I have very flat feet. Crocs Athens and OluKai Ohana flip flops. A couple pairs of Asics sneakers. Changing shoes mid day helps a lot. If I know I'm going to be walking at a brisk pace (rope drop mornings) I wear sneakers regardless of how warm it's going to be and switch to flip flops later in the day when it's more relaxed. My feet get really tired when I try to power walk in flip flops.

This is a topic that comes up regularly on the Disboard. It is vital to have comfortable feet at Dland! If you are visiting multi-day - my biggest advice is to have two pairs of good walking shoes. It helps so much to change your shoe when you take a midday break. Even if both pairs are comfortable, each will have different pressure points on your foot and so changing that up just helps a ton. We typically visit in the summer - so we go on all the wet rides during the day, and thus my daytime shoe is a Keen Whisper which I can wear comfortably sock free, gets wet with no harm and dries fast. My afternoon/evening shoe is ASICs cross trainer worn with nicely cushioning Nike no show athletic sock.

I agree...Rotating shoes is an absolute must for me. That makes all the difference in the world.

I am a Sketchers girl all the way. I don't think I own a pair of shoes that isn't Sketchers. They have the most comfortable runners and even sandals to wear that each trip that's the only thing I pack. I've worn a pedometer many times in Disneyland just out of curiosity and I will average at least 10-12 miles per day back and forth between both parks and walking to and from our close offsite hotel and back. Comfortable shoes are a MUST!!! I just don't get how people wear heels in Disney and I've seen that so many times before. My sciatic nerve is killing me just thinking about it.

I tend to change up my shoes. I really liked wearing Oofos--great support and comfortable and I am a flip flop lover. I also switched in trail runners in the evening and a pair of Teva hiking boots that I adore and wore during my longs walks last year in Scotland/London (not good for warm days but great for cooler evenings).

I switch between Sketchers and Asics. Moisture wicking socks are a must. I like to buy ones with arch support in them to help with my high arches. This reminds me I need to break in a new pair this summer before our September trip!

I have fallen arches and bad knees. On our last trip I alternated my Jambus with New Balance sneakers. In warmer weather it's alternating Birkenstocks with ABEO sandals from the walking company.

These are my Jambus, the memory foam is super cushy, the toe box is nice and wide, and they're durable. I've worn them climbing pyramids and miles and miles of trails and uneven city streets in Mexico, so they were definitely up for Disneyland.
