EDITED: YouTube links for all the Super Bowl commercials shown last night are in POST #23

In anticipation of the new Super Bowl commercials tomorrow, how about a thread of your past favorite commercials? Doesn't have to be Superbowl, even local / regional commercials you want us to see will do. :happytv:popcorn::

I love any/all of the old Budweiser clydesdale commercials. ❤

For a real oldie, non-Super Bowl commercial, there's this Alka Selzer commercial: :lmao:

I couldn't agree more about the Budweiser Clydesdale Super Bowl ads, those were always the best ads, especially the 9/11 tribute.
The other ad that always had a special place in my heart was the Ram Trucks So God made a Farmer ad since my parents are grain farmers.

I always thought this Coke Super Bowl ad was a cute idea and pretty funny!

Cute! I was at a Thanksgiving parade party once, up high, along the parade route and one could only see part of the large balloons, like only the faces. Someone had brought their little toddler. The poor little guy started SCREAMING when he saw these huge faces and oversized animals floating by the window. :scared1: :scared:

It hadn't occurred to any of us, until then, what it must look like from the perspective of a child who doesn't know they aren't real.

As someone who worked in broadcasting for over 40 years, I learned to ignore commercials. Even though the revenue they generated paid my salary.

"Favorite commercials" does seem like an oxymoron in most cases. :scratchin But, every once in a while the advertising agencies do make a great one.

The best commercial of all time....never makes any list....is a fellow sitting on a porch in the depths of the bayou....it looks summer time hot, he is sweating.......so as a viewer we fell sorry for the man in the rocking chair....camera scans to to floor of bayou porch.....a pile of empty Tabasco sauce bottles.....damn fool has been drinking them like a beer.....than a camera scans to the man's arm, a huge mosquito lands and starts sucking....man just watches the mosquito ....sucking the red fluids out of his arm....bug is full and takes off into the darkness, picks up speed......and explodes, ain't no blood in that mans body.

it is the best because as a viewer we are involved with the man, the poverty of the porch, the heat, stupid is stupid does drinking that sauce and the horror of a bug landing on his arm.....we have no expectations of that bug exploding .

simplicity of expectation is the best

that is why mean joe greene always ranks #1 until damn puppy or was it the tear jerking horse re-playing Fred McMurray's movie Smokey.....anyhow, CBS ranked them and polled the new generation who have long forgotten the simplicity of a commercial ....have a smile and coke have a bottle of red sauce in the deep dark bayou.

I mostly watch the Super Bowl for the commercials since many new ones will make an appearance. Most of the clever/humorous ones from beer/corn chip/snack food companies are consistently my favorites. In the past few years there was a LOT of ads for new movies or some obscure internet company who never really said what they did but wanted you to go look up their website after the game.......those were probably my least favorite. Think they wasted a lot of money for a limited benefit.

I have to say that the Clydesdale ones are still my favorites. Last nite's made me gasp, then shed a few tears..it tugged at my heartstrings for sure, and I loved it! Also liked the NFL football one with the players coming out of the tv and being smaller than those 2 kids. There were others I liked, and others we just said 'how stupid', lol
