My favorites are
-Chili (homemade)
-Chicken Rice or Noodle (homemade)
-Beef Stew (homemade)

I love:
Cream of Potato
Potato and Leek
Cream of Broccoli
Broccoli Cheese
Baked Potato soup

When I worked full time, we always ordered the above from a local deli all winter long. OMG so good, soooo good! I don't make any of them, but order then when out if they're from a place thas has good soup.

I make homemade chicken soup that is really good

Canned:
Progresso Chickarina

Dry mix:
Lipton noodle
black bean

I'm not a fan of watery soups but I love creamy soups.

One of my favorites is Heinz tomato soup - it reminds me of England! We used to have this every saturday lunchtime during the winter with hot buttered toast, it was so good!

I also love Panera Bread's Wild Mushroom.

I'm a terrible cook but I made butternut squash bisque the other day and it was pretty good.

Love soups. I like to make Portuguese Soup,New England Clam Chowder,Minestrone Soup.

My Mom is gone now but she made the best soups. Lentil Soup, Pea Soup,Chicken Soup.

I would love a good potato leek soup recipe.

I love soup, and so does my DS13! The rest of the family, not so much. DH thinks there needs to be a sandwich served with it:confused3

I do keep some canned soup for a quick luck, mostly lentil.

Homemade....taco, chicken noodle, mom's potato, vegetable beef, and whatever else I run across!

I'm going to try beer cheese soup and homemade pretzels, close enough to a sandwich!

Paula Deen has a really great cheese soup recipe. I'ts in her "The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cookbook Collection." I make it without the pimentos.

I don't like any canned soups... only homemade

Crawfish, corn and potato soup
Potato soup
Gumbo (not really soup, but I don't eat it with rice)
Cream of crawfish soup
Corn and crab soup
Mexican tortilla soup

Mmmm... I am ready for cooler weather and some warm soup.

My grandma makes the best Turkey soup after Thanksgiving. It is completely from scratch. I really like the Amy's soups if you have to go canned. The black been and both lentil soups are my favorite.

I make a potato soup that is so yummy. It is a tomato based broth and you simmer some lamb shanks in the broth (which is just tomato sauce and water with some peppercorns) and then shred the lamb and put in the fridge over night. Take it out of the fridge and skim off any of the fat. Then reheat and add potatoes. The broth is very good to dip bread in.

Bean with bacon - Campbell's

Tomato - any kind - with either a tuna boat (tuna fish in a hot dog roll) or a grilled cheese sandwich..

Cream of Mushroom - any kind - poured over buttered toast..

Cream of Celery - any kind

Vegetarian Vegetable - Campbell's

My Mom used to make the best chicken soup - with elbow macaroni and the soup part was a sauce that was almost as thick as gravy.. By the time it dawned on me to try to get the recipe from her she was already suffering from Alzheimer's and didn't have a clue what I was talking about.. :( I've tried many times to figure it out on my own, but so far - no luck..

Haven't had canned soup in years, although this week I did buy some tomato soup in a box from Wegman's. Not sure how it will taste.

Favorite homemade soups here are: lentil, chicken noodle, chicken corn chowder, potato, and vegetable (with and w/o beef)

There is a place in Oak Ridge, Tn that makes the most wonderful gratin savoyard soup. It is their featured soup on Mondays, and I go there every Monday that I can. I always get their cheese bread to eat with it. Absolutely delicious!

The Soup Kitchen Gratin Savoyard

Ingredients

6 Tablespoons butter 1/2 cup flour
1 bunch leeks, coarsely cut 4 cups water
1/2 teaspoon white pepper 1 pound cream cheese
4 cups chicken stock 1 pound vanilla yogurt
1 lb. frozen chopped spinach

In large pan, melt butter and saute leeks with pepper. Add chicken stock. Whisk flour into water and strain into stock. Add cream cheese and yogurt, and beat until smooth with wire whisk. Add spinach. Serves 8 to 10.

Okay, folks, we're gonna need some recipes here! :thumbsup2

OK, I don't have an exact recipe... but my cream of potato and leek soup:

6 leeks, sliced.... all the white, and a small amount of green. Make sure you rinse the slices after cleaning as they can be dirty.

5 pounds of cubed potatoes. I use red potatoes.

1 stick of butter

2 shallots, minced

4 sliced carrots

1 gallon of milk... I use 2%

1 qt heavy cream

1/4 gallon of chicken stock

4 slices of bacon - cooked and crumbled

2 cloves of garlic - minced

3 bay leaves.... remove after cooking.

salt, pepper to taste

Put it all in a pot and cook on medium heat until veggies are soft. You could, optionally, pre - cook the veggies, but I don't. When they are soft, add a "slurry" made of water and Wondra to thicken....

Sometimes I add clams.....

I love homemade soups. I rarely have canned but if I do it is Campbells' Tomato.

My favorite homemade soups are:

Potato and double corn chowder
Vegetable beef
Chicken and noodle
Chicken and rice
Italian Wedding
Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup (recipe from Le Cellier)

I love making soup almost as much as I love eating it.
Some of my favorites are -
Cheddar beer
Tortilla
Cream of Broccoli
Tortellini
Cabbage
Tomato and any other tomato based soup

I'm really surprised how many people like Campbell's Tomato, that stuff is foul. The second ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, same as the second ingredient in soda - no thanks.

i make allot of soup in the winter months-i just like the smell of it simmering on the stove top.

top favs in our household-

beef vegetable

minnestroni

baked potato (with the requisite sour cream, chives and bacon bit toppings:thumbsup2)

new england clam chowder

"pot pie" (a souped up version of my pot pie filling, created cause dh/dd would eat multiple pot pies if given the chance, and i figure it's healthier w/o the crust).

dh makes a to die for potato-leek:love:

if going out-

local place has a great tomato bisque, and we enjoy chili's chicken enchilada.
