Where and what room is your favorite room at the WL !! We have a courtyard booked for June, Help I know nothing about the rooms there. :)

we had 4077.....gorgeous view...HOWEVER, they had one tall tree planted and it was directly in front of us....I really dont know why it was there...that said, didnt take away from anything....loved the view...spent every morning out there with a book and my coffee

If you PM me with your email addy, i will email you the view from our room...5041. It was the best courtyard view we have had so far. Looked straight out to the pool and then to the lake.

Just make sure you specify "inner" courtyard view. If not, you MAY get a view of the "quiet pool" and the villas...which is not horrible, but certainly not as great as the main pool view.

Also, I would ask to be on the 3rd, 4th or 5th floor. The 6th and 7th have solid balconies. In other words, you have to be standing AT the balcony to see over it. When you are in your room, all you see is a wall.

Have fun at my all time favorite resort!

Where was your room located at (wings, lobby, ) and was it a court yard view? How was traffic outside your room, noise, elevator? Thanks ! Trying to understand the WL layout :sunny:

OMG, I do not want to look at the quiet pool or villas paying the rate I am. I thought courtyard was the main pool area. I am going to send you my email addy now. Thanks :)

I believe views of the villas and quiet pool are considered woods view. Courtyard views face in towards the "courtyard" and pool.

My favorite courtyard view is one where I have been upgraded to get it! Gotta love it.

We had room 5165.WE LOVED our room.We had requested a inner courtyard view, 4th or 5th floor. We were in the South wing all the way at the end.It was a bit of a hike from the elevators but the view was great. We had a great view of the pool, lake and the water parade from our balcony at night.Enjoy the WL!!!!!!It is a beautiful resort.

I have never personally been stuck with the quiet pool view, but I have seen a few people complain about it on these boards. That they PAID for courtyard and were told that the view of the quiet pool WAS considered CY! Maybe if you do a search of "inner courtyard" or "queit pool view" or something you will see what I am talking about. Just the fact that they make a distiction between "Inner courtyard" and "quiet pool" makes me wonder.

I agree with duds...the best CY views are the ones that you get the complimentary upgrade to! :cool1:

Yes, how could that be a courtyard view if it's not facing the courtyard. Courtyard means not facing the Villas or their quiet pool. That's kind of stupid for them to put someone who is paying courtyard and they are facing away from the courtyard.

It's like paying for the Poly Lagoon View and all you get is a quiet pool and not a glimpse of Lagoon view to be seen. That is not right.

Anyways... We had the Courtyard view. We were facing the courtyard. We were facing west towards the MK on the 6th floor. And yes, the balcony was solid, you have to stand to see the outside. And we stayed on the 6th floor same side twice. I just wanted to stay there just so we can see the fireworks. And we did, just the high ones. But next time, I think we are going to ask for the 5th floor, but we definitely won't see much fireworks.

If I knew how to post a link, I would provide the thread where the gal said she PAID for courtyard, had a view of the quiet pool, and when she complained she was told that was considered CY. I know, it scares me, too, cuz I would have never thought that could happen! I would be so upset!

lovemy2girls-I sent you another PM, cuz I do not think that is the correct email addy. i sent it to you last night, so I just want to make sure you check PMs. BTW...we are not supoosed to "talk" about PMs on the threads...it is against the rules, so this is the last time I will mention it! :earsgirl:

The only courtyard view we had was when we stayed in the honeymoon suite 7096. It was a great view of the "woods' although the bus stop was below, you could not hear it or see it unless you looked over the balcony, otherwise it was sunrises and tree tops as far as the eye could see. :cloud9:

That's really aweful. I honestly think that the WL have over booked the Courtyard and they didn't want to make the customer more upset, so they probably maybe just lied to them and said... "Yes, it is the courtyard view, it is part of the couryard view." Ooooo...I would have been mad.

I currently have a ressie at WL for $301 Courtyard view with AAA for June. And there is no way-no how for that kind of money I would sit in the balcony and have the view of the Villas or their little quiet pool. I would probably be very upset. And if they tell me that it is part of the courtyard view... I would tell them in a nicer way BS. I will point out to them on the map where the CY is. Now, we all know where the CY is located, and we know what the CY is, and it is surely not facing the woods or the Villas or their little pool.

Blah..blah..blah... I just feel bad for that person who got the view of the Villa and paid higher price for a CY view. That was just not right. Sorry. Thanks for letting me vent here, just had to get it out of my chest.

If you're talking about the tree that was there before Sept. '04--it is no more, a victim of the hurricane season.

Also, check the WL FAQ thread. Majestic has a photo link that shows many balcony views from WL. This is a good resource to see what type of views you'll get from different areas of WL.

Next, a WL room map I have lists the area between the Villas (where the quiet pool is located) and the main lodge as a Courtyard. It has always been my understanding that these are courtyard views, too. I always list "Inner courtyard" on my room requests.

Finally, we have been on both wings. The north wing is closer to the boat launch and Roaring Forks. The south wing has better pool views (less tress) and a better view of the lake. Also, many Courtyard views have views of the Falls and Silver Creek that are further from the pool. If you want an inner courtyard with a good view of the main pool make sure you list this on your ressie. Our request go like this: Bunkbeds, inner courtyard, good view of main pool, 4th or 5th floor. We ask for 4th 5th floor for a better view of the lake plus the pool noise isn't as distracting.

it was last week...the tree is still there

4077 is above the lobby, not in the wings

come off the elevator, go right down the hall and its the second door on the right......

Sounds like the little tree they planted has grown. This is a photo I took in Oct. '04. There use to be a very large pine in the corner that blew out with the hurricanes. It made views from those rooms "pine bough view rooms." They replanted a deciduous tree, and it's too bad the tree is already hurting the views from those rooms. The view from that area is very nice.

sorry, I didnt finish answering as our network went down for a bit

no, I didnt find it noisy.....you can hear whispering canyon with the door open, but once I closed it, it got pretty quiet. There was a fan running constantly (air conditioning) and that provided enuff white noise to drown any lingering sound out. I had no trouble with noise whatsoever.

if you look at that picture just posted....we were the bottom floor you see left of center...middle window...behind that tree

the tree was completely intrusive, but it would have been nicer without it.

:jumping1: :dancer: We're going in 33 days. Have a woods view booked, but hoping there's a little pixie dust in the air on June 19 (Hey, I am the one checking in AND it is Father's Day. You never know !!)

I'm thinking I'll ask for one of the solid balcony rooms on 6th or 7th floor. DOn't think that solid wall will upset anyine in my family.

Question: Where are the Smoking rooms ? Is it a particular floor or section of the hotel? Would like VERY MUCH to avoid this location.

33 day dance in progress :cool1: :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :bounce:

How much success have you had with these requests? We are planning an 11/27-12/02 trip, and picked WL due to proximity to MK and the bunkbends for my two little guys.

Thanks!
