Your Favorite Courtyard View at the WL

"Bears Face" room 5077 (One floor above 4077) We've had this room 3 times.

We had that same room in July of 2004 and absolutely loved it. We received a comp upgrade from a woods view which made it even better. Perfect location close to everything. We did hear a little bit of WC noice as this room opens to the lobby but it didn't bother us in the slightest.

How in the world did you end up with this 3 times? We are splitting our upcoming trip between AKL and WL. Just a tad nervous over the room we'll get this time as last year's couldn't have been better!!

We ended up with room 5077 3 times because we have asked for it several times and have stayed at WL 19 times. I talked to a room assigner while at the WL and she said they do look at our request and try to honor them.

"Bunkbeds, inner courtyard, good view of main pool, 4th or 5th floor. We ask for 4th 5th floor for a better view of the lake plus the pool noise isn't as distracting."


How much success have you had with these requests? We are planning an 11/27-12/02 trip, and picked WL due to proximity to MK and the bunkbends for my two little guys.

We've had pretty good results. We've always gone in late Oct, so it's not quite as full. You're going after Thanksgiving, so it just depends on when people check out. Be prepared to wait until nearly (or after) 3:00. I've found the more specific you are in your requests, the longer you'll wait for your room. Just make sure you list your requests in order of importance.

Also, some have mentioned about seeing fireworks from the lodge. Here's a photo I took from the 5th floor South Wing.

As you can (barely) see, yes, you can see them, but it's not a great show. We went over to the Poly one night and watched them from the beach. That was awesome. HIGHLY recommeded. Plan a dinner at O'Hana then walk look around until the fireworks start.

Lastly, don't worry too much about exactly where your room is located. We've had courtyard a couple of times, now. They are great, but we're thrilled just to stay anywhere at WL. Our upcoming Dec trip we have standard ressies. I honestly will be perfectly happy to stay in one of those rooms. Just being in the resort is the best part, and every room has it's own advantages. I understand, however, paying for courtyard and getting the quiet pool view. Just make sure you request "Inner courtyard," and you'll be fine.
