We plan on eating a lot of counter service foods during our trip. Could you tell me some of the best things to order and where they are located?

Thanks, Lisa

i loved the flaming tree in animal kingdom. i had the chicken salad and the dressing was so yummy. i wish i could figure out how to make it that dressing! my sister and nephew had the bbq chicken sandwich...oh so freakin good! :earseek:

and I love Tusker House at AK...yummy rotisserie (can't spell) chicken~~Won't be long til I have some!

The danishes or beignets at POFQ--and my DF can't get enough of Starring Rolls chocolate croissants!

Flame tree BBQ at AK - corn, beans and bbq meat combo meal
Lotus Blossom Cafe at China Epcot - chicken combo meal
Tangierine Cafe - Morrocco Epcot - Schwarma sandwich
Cosmic Rays - anything I enjoy the show! and the great fixin bar
ABC commisionary MGM - Fish and fries.

snacks - MK main St Bakery- French toast loaf, dole whips -(Adventureland)
AK- Harambe- smoothies
Epcot - Pattisserie Boulangerie France- any of the cakes, Norway - cakes or Rice cream, Disneyquest - cheescake factory -snickers cheesecake (big enough to share)

Some of the places we usually visit are...
Pizza Planet at MGM for pizza & salad
Liberty Inn in Epcot for burgers & hot dogs
Main St Bake Shop in MK for all sorts of breakfast items...French Toast Loaf is my favorite

AK- Tusker House

MK- Columbia Harbor House

Epcot- Ramsdale's Fish and chips.

Studios- Yet to find one

Our favorite counter service restaurants are Pecos Bills (love the fixin's bar), Columbia Harbour House (only counter service place I have found that serves Sweet tea) and love the salad! Both of these places are located in the Magic Kingdom.

Rarely do we ever eat counter service at Epcot... their full service is JUST TOO GOOD!

We are not enamoured with any of the counter service restaurants at Disney MGM.

At Downtown Disney, we like Wolfgang Puck Express--- there is one at Marketplace and one at Westside. Their menus are a bit different... you will find the sandwiches and pizzas at both, but only Westside serves sushi. Also each one has a different recipe for Macoroni and Cheese.

My ABSOLUTE favorite counter service is Tusker House at DAK! Fantastic quality!!! The rotisserie chicken with homemade mashed potatos and green beans is outstanding, as is the Balsalmic Chicken Salad!

Sweet Tea! Oh my gosh, now I am going to have to stop there just to get some tea~ Thanks for the tip

Pecos Bill in MK has giant and tasty chicken wraps.

I just had to say ditto about Tusker House at AK! I have been looking forward to going back there and eating the salmon since our last trip. It came with rice and veggies, it was so nice to have a healthier type meal for counter service. :)

Another place to grab something healthy is Anaheim Produce in MGM. We had fresh fruit and veggies and soft pretzels there for an early lunch/snack one day.

I like Columbia Harbor House at the MK- their tuna sandwich is GREAT, and their chicken strips/fish is pretty decent too.

Pecos Bills at the MK is good too; I like their toppings bar for the burgers and hot dogs, and they have a very good salad.

Tusker house at the AK gives you a LOT of bang for your buck- very tasty chicken and a lot of it.

Surprisingly enough, I have yet to find a counter service restaurant at Epcot that I LOVE- I have eaten at several of them and they're all okay- I guess I liked either the Yakitori House (Japan) or the Lotus Blossom (China) enough to want to go back. And the big pretzels in Norway looked so good- I definitely want one of those next time.

MGM??????? I have eaten at Pizza Planet and Rosie's All American Cafe and both were 'eh.

MK- El Pirata Y el Perico(Advetureland)- good tacos, excellent taco salad.
Different from other counter service joints.

Epcot- Boulangerie Patisserie(France-World Showcase)- Best known for its
French pastries but has 2 or 3 good sanwiches.

Studios- Backlot Express(near Indiana Jones)- Best of not a particularly
great lot. Usually not busy is a bonus.

AK- TuskerHouse(Harambee)- Hope you like chicken because that's what
they do here. Very good.

DD- Wolfgang Puck Express(Marketplace)- Even my youngest son likes this
place. Excellent selection!

Columbia Harbor House - Best Chicken Fingers and Fries! The galley salad is incredible too, mixed greens, chicken, feta cheese, pecans and pineapple! Soooooo yummy

Flame Tree BBQ - Amazing Ribs, love the BBQ sauce and so much seating in a very tranquil location

The Land - Baked Potato with Cheese and Bacon, Toll House Cookie Mmmmmm

These are great, thanks a lot! I'm excited to hear about the sweet tea, cause I'm from TX and I didn't know there was any other way to drink tea but sweetened with a pound of sugar. It seems everyone agrees about the Tusker House chicken, we'll definitely have to eat there.

Some of our favorite stops:

AK -
Flame Tree BBQ - the AK Vouchers are a great deal here - we both got the BBQ Pork sandwich, came with a small cob of corn, baked beans, a large drink, and then you have the voucher to use later in the day for another drink & an ice cream or popcorn treat. This is one of the best deals we've found & very filling, too! :D

MK -
Columbia Harbor House - I enjoyed the ham sandwich with broccoli slaw here, (I think it came w/chips) & hubby enjoyed the tuna sandwich - he really enjoyed his - might be worth checking out! (I'm not a tuna eater.)

El Pirata Y el Perico - great taco salads here. Sometimes very hard to find this location open.

Main Street Bakery - awesome hot cinnamon rolls here in the morning, as well as, so many other delicious options. Great for a lighter breakfast on a day you're planning a larger lunch. :D

Sleepy Hollow - we love getting the bucket of caramel corn here - it's a great thing to keep in our room to munch on throughout the week. Then we always get one to bring home, too!

Epcot:
Cantina de San Angel - we always end up eating here twice every trip. We both usually get the Combinacion plate. It has a good variety & great flavor - their hot churros are great for dessert, and a strawberry margarita goes great with the meal, too. :D

Italy - hubby always stops for a cannoli here.

MGM:
I agree with everyone - not enough good places to eat here -
Starring Rolls - we frequent this spot on mornings that we come for EMH. We like to visit TOT & RNRC on empty stomachs  , then we'll stop here for a quick bite. We both enjoy the blueberry muffins here - pretty large & filling. Sometimes we also split a Tollhouse cookie. :D

POP Century - we stayed here last time & will be there again next week!!! We ended up eating lunch/dinner/snacks here quite a few times & were never disappointed with our food. Quite a few tasty options here & affordable. Hubby's favorite was the turkey panini sandwich - it was huge! I enjoyed the pasta a couple times - nothing fancy, but good to me. :D

HTH!!! Have fun planning! :D
