It's funny you mention your substitution...I was thinking that some sort of potato would be better than the tomatoes!

How is that Kilauea chocolate cake dessert? Worth getting? Enough to share?

The shrimp and scallops are great! I also like the Teriyaki steak!:rotfl: the crab cake appetizer is also very good! :rotfl:

I got the pomegrante pork chop and think it's the top ranked pork chop I have eaten! :)

The tuna oscar is probably my favorite restaurant meal EVER. Seriously, I love it so much I dream about it.

This was our worst meal ever at Disney. I heard so many rave reviews and I just don't understand it. We waited over and hour past our ADR and we were rushed through the meal with things taken away from us before we were even finished..dining time was less than 40 min.

The meals were obviously pre-made and sitting under heat lamps. They came out almost as fast as we ordered but were completely cold. Hubby had the coconut chicken and he said it was dry. A friend and I had the shrimp and scallops and it was terrible. I didn't finish it because I thought it would make me ill. The scallops were cold in the middle, luke warm on the outside. The shrimp tasted like they were out of a box of premade frozen shrimp. They were big but tasted terrible. the breading was dry and hard. The sauces were very bitter and off tasting and the rice wasn't sticky rice...it was mushy and gummy. There was hardly any food on the plate..but I wasn't complaining because it was all terrible. It looked nothing like the pics of it that I had seen on here prior to my trip.
My Dad had a steak and he quit half way through because it was so tough.
The fondue dessert had chocolate that was just melted chocolate chips that were half rehardening, the fruit was dried up, the cookies were sticky like they were sitting out in a steamy kitchen.
We did enjoy the welcome bread, but they took it away from us before we were finished eating it. The daquiries (non-alcoholic) were also very tasty. My dad had fun with the kona kone..but he just likes ice cream.

Our waitress was rude and even asked us how much we were planning on tipping when she collected the checks. There was also a manager with a clipboard who hovered at the end of the aisle near our table and kept watch of the table turnover with a very angry face....not comfortable for dining.

It was also very loud and just not the place to go if you want a relaxing meal.

sorry....I have enjoyed the quality downstairs at Captain Cookes much more.

I MIGHT try the restaurant again....but maybe for lunch when they aren't so crowded. I would have to be pretty hungry though.

I have eaten there twice, had the same thing both times since I loved it so much the first time and wanted those items again :).

I had the chicken with the noodles...this was wonderful my first visit, a little dry the second time but still good. Love the bread and butter they serve. Had the Kilauea dessert both times...both times wonderful...both times had a hard time finishing because I was a little full :). There is a full review in the dining review in my signature.

Kona was fantastic! The kiluea choc cake was the best dessert I had on property during our 2 week stay!!

This was the surprise favorite meal of our trip last summer. My husband had the tuna oscar and I has the terriyaki steak. Both were amazing. Loved the bread and butter too.

My favorite dinner entree at Kona is the Shrimp and Scallops. We love all the desserts. We've never gotten a bad meal there - love it!

The bread.....that is the only thing that I like at dinner....I prefer the lunch menu but sadly they do not serve bread at that time

Man, I forgot how much I loved this meal! We had to wait 20-30 minutes after our ADR time even though the table was available the whole time we were waiting. The food was FAB though. I had the coconut almond chicken and it was sooooo good, the bread was great (my friend requested butter w/o nuts that never came), the drinks- I can't remember what, something girly for sure, and the banana chocolate creme brule. Now I want to go back.
