Your experiences at Rose & Crown.

We had dinner there in late April, 2008. DH and I both had the steak and fish and then exchanged, he got 2 steaks and I got all the fish! I don't know if that's on the menu anymore, but it was very good. DGD had the kids' pizza which was meh, just a pizza. The best part was that we had patio seating during Illuminations, that was awesome. (sorry, don't recall what we had for dessert)

It wasn't too long of a hike, but then again we came into Epcot on the World Showcase side. My BF had the fish and chips and he said they were the best he has had and then I had the grilled chicken with chips. It was a really good restaurant :)

DH is British so this is a must do for him each year. I usually get the bangers and mash and he gets something different each time. We also like the cheese & fruit plate as an appetizer. My dd is a teenager and, yes, we bring her and her friend along. They really like chatting with the CM's from the UK. It's a great place for a beer.

We've eaten there a few times, and we really enjoy it. The atmosphere is great, whether you eat inside or outside. We've had some really good things and some just good things off the menu, but always enjoyed our meal overall. Service is not always the fastest, but even with our not-very-patient DD2, it was no problem.

We went last year & I got the Shepherd's Pie. It was good but I think I'll try something different next time I go. Dh got the fish & chips and liked it. It's the flights of beer & scotch that really attract us though.

Yes, we took kids. We had 7 at our table. 4 ate the food and enjoyed it, 1 felt her sausage was just o.k. & didn't eat much, 1 cried and we ended up getting him McD's & bringing it back and he ate it at R&C, 1 had a cold and slept through the whole meal.

It's a nice place, my b-i-l's favorite restaurant in WDW.

I've eaten there a few times but the last time we were there will be my last time. The fish and chips were a pile of grease and mushy and totally inedible.

We took at gamble and went a few years ago and try and go back each trip. My husband - the carnivore that he is - really liked their steak. I love, love, love the Stickey Bread Pudding. The staff was always nice and feel it is a secret still to some. Overall British food is not my favorite, but their food was fabulous!:cool1:

Bangers and mash and wash it down with the Imperial sampler....and if you can watch Illuminations while dining is the icing on the cake

We ate there for the first time in August. It was good. Not excellent, but good. I'd gladly eat there again if it fits into our schedule/budget, but it's not one of my Epcot Top 3 Restaurants or a "must do for us on every trip" place.

Dh enjoyed the bangers and mash. I'm not a fan of fish in general, but I did try the fish & chips and it was very good! Ds (13) devoured his fish and chips and finished my portion. Dd is 11 but ordered off the kid's menu and was fine with her pizza entree. We passed on dessert because we wanted to snack in the World Showcase.

Here are some photos.

We always eat there. The Fish & Chips are fabulous. I had the steak and fish and the steak was done to perfection. My daughter was ll when we started going there and she's 25 now...still loves it. It will be our 1st night's place to eat in April.

It has been years since we had a meal there (2000), but I have a very special memory of it. My dds were 5 years old at the time. We had requested a table so we could see Illuminations, but they couldn't accommodate us. But they made the girls the "kids of the day" or something, and they gave them a magic wand to "start" the fireworks. Basically they gave them a fairy wand and had them count down with the drum beats of the music and then wave the wand. My girls truly believed that they had commanded the fireworks to start on their cue and it was FABULOUS. The look of awe on their faces was unforgettable - truly magic!!! Loved that. So, it will always have a special place in my heart.

We have eaten there every year for the last 4 years that we visted WDW and one year we ate there twice. Except for this year we had always gotten the steak with fish and chips. Though when were there in September this year the steak/fish/chips was not on the menu just the fish and chips. It has always been excellent.

Our waiter this year went above and beyond. To make a long story short while we were waiting on our meal our daughter got ill and I had to take her out of the reastuarant and then ended up walking half of the world to purchase her a new outfit. They had brought my dinner out while I was gone. The waitress ended up taking it back to the kitchen and once I returned and had the chef cook my meal for me again and brought my daughter a ginger ale to help her stomach. Needless to say we left her a very generous tip.

We went in December last year for the first time & had lovely fish and chips. They were really nice - although we finished our meal before iluminations our server asked the manager if it was ok for us to stay (we were sat outside) to watch illuminations and we got to see them from our table:thumbsup2

Would go again :)

DH and I tried R&C, for the first time, 3 weeks ago. We thought the fish and chips were excellant and I loved the sticky pudding. I tried the new appie, Scotch Egg and it was absolutely wonderful. I friend of mine, who moved from England many years ago, used to make scotch eggs....so it brought back sweet memories.
We had a great server and it was so nice to get good food and ice cold beer sitting in a nice cool restaurant on one of the many "heat wave..record breaking days" of our trip.

Three years ago (December 2006), DS12, DD7, and I got caught in a horrible rainstorm and were absolutely drenched when we appeared at the hostess stand seeing if we could get walk-up seating. The staff was amazing. I barely remember the meal (DS loved the cheese appetizer and the shepherds pie, though), but I remember the great service and attention. They seated us right next to a fire (can't recall if it was real or electric), and it was a wonderful enough memory that both kids specifically requested to return to R&C as I was planning our trip this year.

I am very excited reading this as we are going there in 27 days so it is making me even more excited. There will be 8 of us so I am sure we can bring you back a few pictures of a few different things if you haven't gone by then. :thumbsup2

I am excited reading these reviews. I chose R&C for our Candlelight Processional dinner in early Dec. I LOVE fish and chips with beer, so am looking forward to that. I booked it not expecting the best meal of my life, so anything above average, followed by Steven Curtis Chapman at CP, will be good with me! :thumbsup2
