you see advertised in magazines, etc. Some say they work while you sleep, some say to take while exercising, no exercise required, etc. I sure could use some help losing about 15 lbs. I do exercise.
Over the counter pills were useless to me. A friend of mine got prescription pills and she was juiced up for months. She lost weight but when she went off the pills she experianced one heckuva crash.
The OTC weight loss pills I tried only made me loopy.
What did it was when one hot chick said to me "You know, you be cute if you lost..." I didn't even hear the rest I was on the elliptical so fast.
I tried relacore because I had heard that it helped with fibromyalgia. It didnt, it made me have a terrible flare up and I hurt worse than before. Not to mention the night sweats and the general flu feeling.
There is no such thing as a 'miracle pill' that will help you lose weight. The best you can do is diet, exercise, and treatment of any underlying conditions that contribute.
Those pills always say talk to your doctor before taking. Of course nobody does, because no doctor is going to give you the o.k. to take them. You could be causing more damage to your body with some herbal pill than a few extra pounds would.
I agree completely. The most you can try for with pills is something that may make give you more energy throughout your workouts so you can maximize your workout. And, maybe some appetite suppressants do actually work. But no pill is going to magically melt away fat. Impossible.
And change your workout routine at least every 4-6 weeks.
I tried zantrex 3 which claims to give you "incredible energy" and i was still yawning throughout the day. The only thing that's worked for me is eating small portions and just doing 1 mile on my eliptical machine a day.
Be careful with these things, especially if you are sensitive to caffeine. I tried one Stacker 2 pill once years ago. I just wanted some extra help in controlling my appetite. Mind you, if I drink more than one cup of coffee I am bouncing around the place. Well, I took this stupid diet pill and an hour later was lying on my bed telling my then husband he may need to call a doctor. My heart was racing. My chest felt tight. I was lightheaded, nauseated and clamy. I felt like this for about 5 hours. After that, the sick feelings started to go away but I felt very hyper. Of course this is now about 9pm, so I am not about to go jogging. The pill did work - I didn't eat anything as I was either feeling sick or had no appetite all together. Stupid me did not realize the top ingredient in most of these diet pills is caffeine. I have stayed away from them since, no matter how stubborn the weight loss is or how frustrated I get.
As someone else pretty much said, the only thing that'll lose weight is your wallet. If any of them really worked, the product would be flying off the shelves.
