Your Experience With The New Monorail Schedule

With the new shortened monorail operating schedule starting soon (today?), I was wondering if people could share their transportation adventures and how you managed to get to where you are going on time (like, how did you get to your ADR or park EMH?). Were there extra buses or boats? When the monorails did start at 830 or 900, were they jam packed with guests trying to make park opening?

Despite Disney's best efforts to inconvenience as many guests as possible, I'm sure that there are ways around this latest fiasco. They SAY there will be additional buses/boats, but let's see how that actually works.

How would you get from GF to MK on an EMH morning without the monorail? When would the bus start running?

Is the boat a straight shot or does it make multiple stops?

What is the usual GF bus schedule and how will it be affected by having no monorail service before park opening?

Will there be more busses running in the AM? Is the GF the last stop? I know they say it starts at 8:30, but if the Grand Floridian is the last stop on the resort monorail line, those cars are going to be jam packed full of people trying to get to the park before 9 AM. How exactly will Disney compensate for all of this redirected guest traffic in the morning?

As you can see, we have questions.

Ugh, maybe I'll just take a cab...

I remember this from a prior monorail thread. Someone suggested that certain cars of a monorail could be kept closed for boarding at the ticket and transportation center so that there would be room left for the Poly and GF guests. I don't know if that can be done but it would certainly make up for paying to stay at a monorail resort and then not being able to ride it.

Could they run two monorail trains on the resort line at the same time, or is that not possible?

Are there boats and busses running from the CR and BLT to the MK, or do they just assume people could walk so they don't need to? I suppose they'd have to have an alternative option for those unable to walk over?

Saw on the Transportation board that there were special bus routes in the morning:

Poly-GF-MK
WL-CR-MK

Please let us know if this is true for today as well.:thumbsup2

Also, I understand you can't get a cab directly to MK. What about getting one from GF to CR and walking?

You can absolutely get a cab from GF and walk to CR.

Also the boat usually goes Poly --> GF --> MK

Nope, the resort launch is GF -- Poly -- MK

There are multiple resort launches, at least 3 in the morning and about 15 min ride from GF.

I thought boat was poly gf mk before noon and gf poly mk for rest of day.

Can we turn the first post of this thread into an actual guide? So as people experience the transportation options, there is one place where people can look for options.

For instance, for CR:

CR to Epcot

Bus (will stop at X, Y and Z)

Monorail
Resort starts running at 8:30; Epcot starts running at 9

CR to MK

Walk

Bus (stops at WL before CR)

CR to MK resorts

Bus (stops at X, Y, and Z)

Well, how has it been in the AM so far on the monorail resorts getting to the parks?

With the new monorail hours - Can anyone confirm what the new transportation schedule is in the morning from GF with the extra buses and boats running? Any issues getting to MK or EP on time?

Could someone list these new times or a link? Have not heard about this. How do you get to MK before rope drop?

As of 6/22/14: The monorail will have a different operating schedule than normal as an automation upgrade takes place. An automated monorail will allow for faster switching times, more frequent dispatching of trains, and accurate arrival information. Additional buses and watercraft will be available during this time (guests who have early breakfast reservations can also use watercraft or bus service). This schedule will be in place for a few months, but no specific end date has been set. The schedule will be:
Epcot - 9:00am-11:00pm
Resort monorail - 8:30am-midnight
Express monorail - 9:30am-11:30pm
