I have used
Fl Tours several times now. They were okay both times. The first time was for our Thanksgiving day arrival trip. I had asked, repeatedly, if we would be able to use the grocery stop option. I was assured that it would be no problem...even with it being Thanksgiving. We arrived about 10:30ish, in the morning. Found our driver. Okay...got into the car, with our bags. We stated that we were planning on stopping for a quick grocery stop. "oh, sorry mam, that won't be possible since today is Thanksgiving. No stores are open.'' I told him that the office has assured us that there would be a stop..he again said, no, nothing was open. I asked about a stop at a convenience store. Nope, none open. I was not a happy camper,to say the least.
When it was time for our ride back to MCO, again, we had to go in search of our driver. He should have been parked right outside the front of BW but he wasn't. DH finally found him parked way down the street behind a bunch of cabs.
I did email the office that we were displeased by the lack of grocery stop...never heard back.
Second time we used them, we looked and looked for our driver. Took us about 10 mins to find him...dh finally found him outside the terminal having a smoke. Then, when it was time for us to head back to MCO, at the end of ous trip, we again had to go in search of the driver. He should have been parked up in front of the front doors to BW, but after waiting for about 10 mins for him to show up, we called the office, and were told that the driver had left and should be there. Well...as I was talking to the office, my dh noticed a towncar down the road, by the bus stop area...driver outside the car...having a smoke..again!!! Dh went down, talked to the guy, who finally got into his car and drove up to get us. Not much of a tip that time!!
Now....FL Tours went through some management changes. There were issues, as I also experienced. I did make a reservation with them a year or so ago...and they called me to follow up on it. Then, I had to cancel it due to a change in plans. And again, a call was made to follow-up. The person on the phone, both times, was very pleasant and professional. He said that they had had issues in the past and the previous management team and owners had provided some really bad service and they were trying to really make some improvements.
Have they improved?? I have heard reports here of happy customers. I now use DME pretty much all the time, so no longer use car services. Perhaps others out there who have used FL Tours more recently than I, can give you their experiences.
