Sorry, I emabrassingly don't even remember seeing the doors! Guess I was too busy worrying about the infamous "lift-off."

I never saw them either until I saw that shot on line somewhere (probably one of these picture threads).

They are in the lobby, right when you enter the building, so if you don't have a line to stand around in, you'd walk right by them and probably not notice them, BUT if you DID have a line to stand in, you COULDN'T MISS THEM because EVERY STINKIN' PERSON IS RUBBING ON THEM, and they are LOUD!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I am leaving on Saturday for Disney, and would like a copy of this word document. I emailed dcanoli on Friday and Saturday with no response (I am sure due to the holidays :) ) ....So I was wondering if anyone else has a copy of it? I would like to print it out and look at it while I am off work for the holiday. So if anyone has a copy of it, could you please email it to me at cassidy.c.thomas@gmail.com

Thanks!

I have e-mailed the document out to EVERYONE that has sent me a request.

If you didn't receive it then it's because I didn't receive your request. If you need to request it again, please either e-mail me or PM.

THANKS!

In our never-ending quest to find out more information about Disney, I have stumbled across a new blogger (well, at least he's new to me). I just read his last three blogs, and they are detailed stories of the fictional town of Anandapur in Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Here are the three links. I think you will really enjoy reading them, as they contain a lot of Disney "secrets" that most people just walk right by every day!

I'll also add them into our master document so that we can all remember to look for these things the next time we are in DAK! :thumbsup2

Deb

Is the one in the general store still there? Somewhere on here, I thought it said they took the phone and/or the store out.

Does anyone know or has anyone been recently?

I didn't read through the entire thread, so forgive me if someone already responded to your question. We just got back on Monday (a magical vacation, as usual). Anyway, the General Store is gone. They moved the phone to the hat store on Main Street, Le Chapeau (sp?), in the back where they do the personalization. But, you no longer hear the conversation between the mother and daughter when you pick up the receiver. I asked the cast member back there, and she told me that now, if you want to hear the conversation, you have to let the cast member on duty know and he/she will arrange for you to hear the conversation on the telephone on the counter. We didn't do this because it kind of took away the magic for us. Maybe we'll do it next year.

I did know it was gone (I think someone ended up posting it in here somewhere), but I didn't know that second part.

I'll go ahead and update our document, but I may have already taken the phone part out.

We just "built" hats last week at MK, but I didn't see a phone in there. I may have been in a different place, but I agree w/you. Having a CM pick up a phone and dial in the conversation seems so un-magical!

I hate it when little details like this disappear. All we can do is hope that they replace them w/new little surprises!

Well that's just dumb. The only reason to pick up that phone or any busy phone on a party line is to listen in.:rotfl: I've never known anyone who asked if they could listen in before.;)

I needed to post one more so I could email for the document. :)

My DD has been writing everything down. I can't wait to print it out for her to take with us in November.

Thank you all for your tips and secrets!!!

:drive::drive::drive:Tomorrowland: Tomorrowland Transit Authority: The TTA has usually the busiest lines in Tomorrowland. The track is at least 1 mile long.

Carousel of Progress: When this attraction first opened, lines reached over a 60 minute wait.
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin: Guests WILL have their photos taken on the ride! Make sure you're having a good hair day :rotfl2: Hint: If the ride were to stop, keep shooting at targets, you will still get points. That phone info reminded me of another similar "secret" at Epcot. If it's your birthday, head to Guest Relations near Spaceship Earth and tell a Cast Member there that it's your birthday and you heard there's a special phone call waiting for you. Sure enough, there's a special birthday phone message for you from a true "goofball," hint hint. ;)

ITs funny you mention this because DH noticed these doors when he went on Rock n Roller Coaster and now wants to do the doors on our linen closet like this! I didn't get to ride it b/c I was pregnant so I don't know what they look like. Does anyone have a pic of them?

As other have stated the doors make a lot of noise (strange for a recording studio). Besides that, depending on how many marbles used, they could be quite heavy requiring a very study frame and hinges.

any significance to this or is this just one of those facts?

I finally got my son to ride this this year but I don't remember the doors.

The doors are replicas of doors found on the studio they are replicating. I can't find the name of the studio though.

Here is some video.

Jack Spence has a great blog up for Mission: Space. I added several of his points to our secrets document.

Actually, I think they can do that from any phone. I know that last year they did it for me and/or my mom at American Adventure and I think the locker rental place at the front of Epcot. It seems like we got that at another place, too, but I'm not sure where. After a few times, I was just like, that's ok, I've already heard it. But if the CM seemed really excited, I'd go ahead and listen. :goodvibes

Oh, ok, thanks, good to know! :thumbsup2

First thing I would like to say being new here is hats off to Deb's list, it should be the Official Disney Bible:worship:. Could not have done so much without it. We rode the horse drawn trolly with the Dapper Dan's on the back, the double decker bus, meet the Mayor & Fire Chief, all on Main St. Found out from a CM that you can usually only do that before 10am. Also they are still giving out trading cards for the buses (3), monorails (12) & boats (3) the complete set is 18 cards just ask a CM that works one of those posts (might have to ask around not everyone has them)
