Your best experience with a CM

Hats off to Susan at Hollywood and Vine. My DD7 had been throwing up earlier in the day, since we had a guaranteed dinner ressie we didn't think we could cancel and DD was up to hanging out in her stroller. When we arrived there was nothing at the buffet that we dared put into her stomach. I asked Susan our server if she could find some soup or broth and some crackers. A chef appeared at our table a short while later with a steaming bowl of chicken noodle soup with crackers and served it to our daughter in a rather grand fashion on a platter! When we received the bill for dinner, we were not charged for our DD's dinner! When my DD got some food into her that stayed she was feeling so much better. She asked Susan about pin trading and Susan found a CM who came over to our table, sat down with my DD and explained the whole thing then traded with my DD for her first pin trade. Susan - you were awesome, thank you!

Then to David at CRT, who made our meal marvelous! He addressed my Mother In Law as the "Queen Mother", was very animated and a lot of fun. I even asked him to accompany us home as I have never been waited on in such a manner. We had a 10:20 seating (a time I highly recommend) and were seated at one of the windows. David told us to relax, take our time and enjoy our breakfast. When we were thru he brought us more coffee and encouraged us to take our time and we got to sit and look out over Fantasy Land.

I just wanted to say that the experiences at both of these restaurants was greatly enhanced by the service of the CM's and I think they deserve a little bit of recognition

Me and my parents and my aunt & uncle and two younger cousins were waiting for Illuminations to start during the summer. I was trying to entertain my little cousins, since they were getting really bored, really fast.

Then an elderly man who worked in Innoventions, who was making sure the people were staying in the designated area, came over and started teaching me and my younger cousins a little hand game. (Me and my one cousin who is a girl were playing "Concentrate"). That kept the three of us occupied for the 30 minutes left.

Then he showed us a "magic trick" with 3 pieces of mulch that were standing up in a pyramid formation. The trick was to take a 4th piece of mulch and pick up all 3 other pieces, and keep them in the same pyramid formation. (Yes it can be done!!!) That kept us occupied even after the fireworks show was done while we were waiting for the bus crowds to lessen.

He was really funny, and very nice!! He definitely made the trip more fun. And the new hand game was a great break from playing Concentrate in every line for the ride, and while waiting for every show or fireworks show.

There have been numerous other CM's that made trips extra magical. I love CM's!! I haven't met a bad one yet!!

These are bringing tears to my eyes as I read them. They're great!

Here a couple of my own...

In line for RNR on our first trip in 2001, we started up a conversation with the man behind us in line and found out he was an intern in culinary at Mama Melroses'. My son, 8 at the time, kept playing with his ticket. (He wouldn't let me hold it because it was his first time there and wanted to hold the "Key to the World". Anyway, the man saw him and told him he was going to lose his ticket and then proceeded to give him his CM lanyard. The kind that has the big charater on it. To this day, my son still talks about it and has the lanyard hanging in his room.

This past trip in Oct of 2005, we had breakfast at CRT and we were celebrating my DS12 birthday. I had made a shirt that said he was a Prince (I thought that was fitting for CRT) and it was his birthday. Our server brought a Magical Moments certificate for his Royal birthday and all the princesses signed that and his autograph book. Aurora gave him a big kiss on the cheek. Never saw that kid smile so big. :goodvibes

Same trip, we were the only people on the bus back to Sports after MNSSHP. Same day he had his Prince shirt on. The bus driver changed the marquee to read "VIP Cast Member". Very special.

The bus driver from AK who let all the kids sit in the drivers seat and get their picture taken.

Max the bartender at Coronado Springs. Long story, but let's just say he's my favorite. :rotfl:

The golf cart driver who picked my son and I up at OKW when we decided it couldn't be THAT LONG of a walk from our room to the front. (Building 42).

I can't say that I have ever had a bad experience with a CM. I'm going to have to start writing more letters so they get the recognition that they deserve. And people wonder why I keep going back year after year after year... ::MickeyMo

I thought I would bump this thread by telling of an experience from our lastg trip in June. On our first night at Beach Club we went to Beaches and Cream and ordered The Kitchen Sink. Just after ordering, Jessica who was getting ready to make our Kitchen Sink asked our DS 7 if he wanted to make it. After a little encouragment, he went behind the counter and he and Jessica proceeded to make the treat. He had the best time and thought it was the greatest thing we did all week.

Almost every CM did a their part in making our stay magical, but I would have to say that Jessica at Beaches and Cream went far above and beyond to make this trip extra magical for us and especially our DS 7.

I'm trying to link a thread to this I posted called How Disney Handled a Very Difficult Situation. Of course, I don't know what I'm doing :badpc: . However, Disney went above and beyond in helping me, in ways that words cannot express. I hope the link works. Sorry.
