DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute....... Work this out as you read.

Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it

out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that

you would like to have chocolate. (more than once but

less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (Just to be bold)

3. Add 5. (for Sunday)

4.. Multiply it by 50,

I'll wait while you get the calculator................

5. If you have already had your birthday this year

add 1755....

If you haven't,

add 1754 ....

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number .

The first digit of this was your original number (i.e.,

how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are .........

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

Wish I was smart enough to figure out how they work. :confused3 Brainey I'm not. :rotfl2:

Odd Odd Odd! LOL

How on Earth do these things work? :teacher:

Thanks for that,
Gaspodé

Wow! It was right! Love these math puzzles. :teeth:

Do you guys really want to know how this works? :teeth:

Basically you start with a number, lets call it x and x has to be > 1 and < 10. You also have another variable you have to provide, lets call it y, and it is the year you were born.

Following all of the instructions you get the following equation regardless of you year of birth or the number you choose:

50(2x + 5) + 1754 - y (I just used the 1754 for not having my birthday this year)

This can be expanded into:

100x + 250 + 1754 - y

If you then will notice you will always have 250 + 1754 which equals 2004. If you already had your birthday this year you will have 250 + 1755 with equals 2005. So you always have:

100x + 2004 - y

Now 2004 - y gives you your age since y is your birth year. In my case this would be 1975 so 2004 - 1975 = 29

This gives me:

100x + 29.

Since you have an x value of > 1 and < 10 you always get a three digit number that ends up being your x value in the 100's position and your age in the tens and ones position. If I said I would like to eat chocolate 3 times a week I would get 329. If I said I wanted chocolate 7 times a week I would get 729.

Now wasn't that fun!!! :)

Wow, maybe calculus actually paid off, I understood all of what you said and see exactly where you got it from! Thats so cool!!
